    I tried hooking up with my friend the other night for some co-op. Took about half an hour for him to finally see my summon (I could never find his) and when we finally did it, it was fun. I don't like how the fog walls box you in and constrict you, but I knew that happened anyway. When I level up and he can play with me on my main file, some serious fun can be had.

    Also started a magic character. Went for the Sorcerer class and specializing in Intelligence, Faith, Vitality and Endurance at the moment. It's ironic that I would find all the rare drops (Black Knight Sword/Demon's Greataxe etc.) on the character that uses magic but oh well..

    After searching around some more I found that a lot of people who had experienced this problem couldn't get it fixed without sending it to Sony so I just went out a purchased a new 160GB Slim console with Battlefield 3 included. If you simply connect the two PS3's together you can easily copy all of your stuff to the new PS3 (saves included). My Dark Souls save is perfectly fine as well, so the process went well.

    For future reference, if anybody has the same problem as I did and want to move all their stuff to the new PS3, refer to this guide.

    Sorry for the bump but my PS3 started experiencing trouble like this too.

    Around a week ago it had trouble reading some game dics (I've never watched a movie or anything like that on my PS3) and about two days ago I would put in games like Prototype 2 and Dark Souls and it would take ages to read. When it finally detected the disc, it would start and then immediately say "Error on Startup" and give me a load of suggestions. Usually, I just tried again and it would work.

    Now though, it won't read any disc EXCEPT Assassin's Creed Revelations. Any other game I put in just won't load. It's more than likely a disc reader issue but I don't understand why it will read only that game but no others. I've had it around three years so I can understand it's getting a bit old now but it's not like I disregard my games. I keep them all clean and dirt-free (Dark Souls has some scratches but the PS3 caused this recently when it start acting up).

    I've got rid of the dust build-up on the PS3 and cleaned it up as best I could but I just thought I'd post here to see if you guys have any other suggestions to save me buying a new one. I can transfer my save data to a new PS3 if I get a new one but if there's something that could fix my PS3 and save me monies, that'd be great.

    EDIT: I also sincerely hope that I don't lose my save data for some games like Dark Souls. I've searched around and you can upload it to the cloud to save it but if I have to get a new PS3, I've also read that you can copy it over to the new one just fine. I hope so!

    Yeah, the name is familiar so it must have been the NPC invasion. She wasn't that hard but her AI was definitely a welcomed change of pace from fighting through the rest of Blighttown.

    Anyway, thanks for answering those questions guys! I understand it more now and hopefully can get some co-op action going soon. Of course, he's going to have to level up a bit first so we can play, especially since I can level up fast at the moment by farming the area through the door that you open with the Crest in Darkroot. It might not be that great of a farming spot compared to later in the game, but for me, it works great. Can get 7000 souls per run and it only takes me about 3-5 minmutes to do depending on how the fights go. Thankfully, there's a bonfire right up the stairs too...

    yeah no problem. checked the controls and some of my armor sets and i think i can get back to old glory :O
    should've played a bit MH instead of playing Amalur and watching death note :D
