In Topic: Osama Bin Laden gets killed
03 May 2011 - 01:01 AM
To start off, I'm quite sure that what happened is the real deal and it does seem that Osama Bin Laden has is finally gone.
I also understand why people would be celebrating over this (His crimes towards humanity especially towards the United States have been great), however I ask the question: "Does this change anything? Is his death really something worth celebrating?"
Fact of the matter is, there are plenty of people out there who are willing to step up and take his place.
This morning while I was browsing on Youtube I stumbled upon this video: Youtube
In essence it's just a video of people cheering and celebrating about the USA's achievement of killing Osama, but at the same time from another point of view I think it looks like an invitation for anyone willing to do evil out there to prove them wrong.
The fact that this is going on almost everywhere (not necessarily just the United States) has me a little worried.
Terrorists who work with the most minimalistic equipment have somehow managed to do what many have thought impossible, the 9/11 attacks is an example of this.
Sure there have been many failed and foiled attempts, but it's only time before someone somewhere does it right and it is then when bad things start to happen.
No matter how great of a country/superpower you are, you cannot underestimate what people might do to strive towards their goals may that be just living a normal life or committing mass murder.
For all we know, we've just given many extremists a new reason and incentive to wage war against humanity once again.
In all honesty, I'm rather glad that Osama is now gone, however I can only hope that history won't repeat itself...
