So my apartment block is generally okay, some annoying things with litter do happen but it isn't too bad.

The worst is noise from subwoofers and parties.

There was another party on our roof (which is a common area with BBQ etc) to the early hours of the morning on Saturday night.
Music went to 1am and was only stopped by the police which I called at 12am. But then we had stupid drunk people calling
down in the entry area which is just below our window, so I didn't get to sleep to till 2am.

Then on Sunday we had our awesome friends at 37 play their gangster rap music for 4 hours with
their awesome bass that just cuts through walls like anything. This apartment was also responsible for two parties
on the same weekend that went on till the early hours of the morning with excessive noise. They had a DJ set
and a mic and it was so loud I could hear every word he said.

My new goal in life is to get apartment 37 kicked out (renters) and to have the power shut off
on the roof at 11pm (power is on timer up there).

but it's pretty much peaceful here everyday. though sometimes you'll hear random karaoke sangs.

My neighbors are mostly nice, but two kids piss me off. One doesn't even have a party going, just opens his (well, I'm sure its his dad) garage at 3 am and starts blasting some crappy modern rap and hip hop. The other always has his ghetto friends drive up (and of course they have to drive all the way up the cul de sac to park at a house halfway down) with their speakers so loud, I cannot hear my loud music (not too loud, so it is hear-able outside).

Let's see. I have a psycho to the right who's been in jail for possession of crack cocaine, and on the left I have an idiot who has a fire pit...in a yard full of dry grass. I am SO glad we'll (hopefully) be moving soon.

theres this dog across the street that likes to mimic car alarms...

I can't hear my neighbors, which is a good thing. I'm not sure if they can hear me, but I don't jam anything past bed-thirty.

I've had to say something in the past, but luckily I'm pretty convincing showing up at their door stating, "Could you turn that shit down please?".

Haven't had any problems. ^ _ ^

I know one of them got signed to Detroit Redwings already or something, though I don't know
Just what i was told. But supposedly all good hockey players since my school is 7th or something in nation.
Yay I guess.

I do get all the dumb drunks outside the front of dorm everynight yelling and screaming at I don't even know
what until I pass out.

Besides that my neighbors are all pretty quiet.

both myself and my roommate(college dorm) routinely sleep at our respective frathouses, and I am planning to move into one next semester. uh...yeah...noise isnt an issue...

Oh, our neighbors are the best local broadcasters...of gossips. My family's already planning on moving to another place but I dunno when.

My neighbors play Bingo everyday. Rather, they gamble everyday.

My neighbors let their dogs roam around out side the house, resulting in an occasional dog excrement sitting on the middle of the street waiting for someone to step on it.

My neighbors drink at weekends(expect a karaoke).

On my left I've got a couple who've just had a baby.

On my right I've got a couple who've just had another baby.

So around 11pm at night you'll hear babies crying on both sides of the wall. Really, I don't mind because you can't stop a baby from crying.
Two doors down from me I've got a policewoman. Four doors down I've got a guy with a huge freakin' thing called his truck that he parks on the driveway into our court (which isn't allowed, by the way) so he frequently finds himself talking with the policewoman.

It's pretty funny.

Halcyon, don't use ur mod powers for this but u sound like a cranky old man hahahha im sorry i had to get that out the way. Anywho my neighborhood has constant drunk people singing and screaming outside,blaring cars, fire trucks, sirens, but nothing from my neighbors even though they make the stairs stink and gave us a pretty old house where pests can easily enter i think. I live on the third floor so no issues there. They don't bother us though so I don't mind my neighbors, but u can go up if ur like hguols say, please keep it low, someone's trying to sleep here. If there good kids, they will listen but if not...oh well guess u gotta be that dude who makes noise complaints

I'm not cranky really the situation just makes me cranky.
I've had to ring the police on multiple occasions on the same night. Police come
and music goes down for 10mins then it goes back up to where it was. I only
call the police after knocking on their door several times to ask them to turn it down
which has really no effect.

I've also complained to the building management and they sent a warning letter
saying you will be fined $550 if you have excessive noise. The police have also told me
that they will issue fines it if continues, but this doesn't seem to bother them.

The music is so loud on some nights that I can feel the beat on the furniture and
hear every word of the song which is pretty loud considering they are one floor up and on the side of us.

To me if you can't go to sleep and are so stressed by the music that all you do
is sit there and feel sick then that's seriously insane. It's a apartment block
not a house in the country with the closet neighbors being 2km away.

wow.....that defines suckiness. So....I don't know what to do, ur situation seems like it's cops that are too lazy to arrest people for overnight prison for having excessive noise and disturbing people. But why are u the only one complaining? What about the others?

Cops don't arrest for noise complaints they only fine far as I know.
I'll just keep complaining to building management so they get kicked out
as they are renters.

Other people have complained to the building management, but I'm sure more people could.
A lot of the build are new immigrants from India and they seem
rather passive in dealing with things like this.
