This topis is to discuss your veiws on religon, and what your religon is, if you have any. Currently i am Christian, but as i go through life, i learn that the bible doesnt lie to me, but leaves out a lot of stuff. Every day im losing a little bit of faith in my religon, moving towards athiesim. Theres just too many questions that the bible can not answer, but there are also too many things that prove the bible correct. Discuss.

EDIT: No Flaming, this is to discuss YOUR views, not flame on others.

I was present at the other "religion" topic so I won't enter this discussion, at a certain point, I have always found it a little bit silly.
I do like to keep it simple in this matter though, I believe there is a supreme being which I call God, but I see most of the religions as a bunch of hypocrites, after all they are formed by human beings, so I don't believe in them.

I'd say I'm on the same line as Aegid. A little difference though; I sometimes tend to go a little bit on the Christian side, but primarily because I'm more interested in the stories illustrated in the Bible than I am with the actual religion itself.

I guess you could consider me a Christian, but only based on my core belief involving Christ.

I think Gahndi said it best.
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

I pretty much denounce religion, church and most other Christians, and stick to the spiritual aspects of my faith.
Doctrines do not interest me and are little more than influenced opinion. I don't need to go through someone to communicate or have a relationship with my God.

....and despite a bunch of idiots calling themselves followers of Christ, I'm ultimately not going to blame the Shepherd for what the sheep do, since the sheep have free will and all. Those idiots will never scare me away from what I believe.

The bible has a lot to learn from, but it's not an all encompassing book. Afterall, it's just writings. Holy origins nonetheless, but ink and paper like any other book.
I've met some people that all but pray to it at night, and that's effin' ridiculous.

I am agnostic, and really anti-religion, for various reasons, one being that I used to be Christian and got sick of the lies and contradictions and hypocracies.

I was baptized Catholic, however I do not practice religion.
EDIT:On a side note keep this topic civil, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Should things get out of hand, action will be taken.

I gave up religion when I was a child. Hated that I was forced to go into a religious class for its utter crap that it teaches.

Wow, your just like me, I was christian only because my dad was christian, but found that the bible couldn't answer the questions i needed, and i now found myself being an atheist, which is perfectly fine with me.

QFT

That pretty much sums up my current situation with religion. However despite not believing in a religion, I am still divided on whether or not a God does exist in the first place. Although in one sense I believe that whether or not a God exists shouldn't make a difference to how we decide to live our lives. If a God does exist, then I think he's left us with everything we need in this universe and has left everything in our hands. If a God doesn't exist, in the same sense we already have everything we need in this universe and it's our choice on how we make use of our surroundings.

Just like to add, if I was not agnostic, I think I would be Deist. Mostly because I was conditioned to accept God for a long time, so the possibility seems very real to me.

I personally believe there isn't any god or gods and that when you die nothing happens.

I don't have a problem with anyone being religious so long as they don't try and force their views on me.
I think religion can be good in a community sense and because it helps people deal with difficult times.

It can also be bad when religious organisations try to interfere with state/government matters.

I am Christian, I go to church on Sundays and a youth group on Wednesdays.

I grow ever more disenchanted with church though, since it seems as though they just say the same lesson in different words every week: "Love God, love Jesus, accept Jesus died for you, follow Jesus' role model, etc". I respect the conviction pastors and youth teachers feel, but just tire of hearing the same reworded sermon twice a week.

And just to put it out there: Contrary to idiotic belief, making lolJesus jokes doesn't condemn you to Hell. Yeah, it's very possible you'll offend someone but it doesn't mean you're going to Hell. =/

Born and raised into a catholic family. Hell, I even went to catholic school til 6th grade. (haha I said hell) but as I grew up and went to public school, I kinda lost faith. I believe there is no god, just a higher power. Like I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason, karma. So I guess that makes me an Athiest?

Edit:poor zanta you need a hug

*hugs* :D

I think there is a term for that, agnostic maybe. Though don't take my word.

I believe we were made my black holes : |
http://www.wired.com...-make-galaxies/

But if anything serious, I do believe there is something that had to start it all, big bang happened whatever, but how?
Is some sort of higher power or something that is unknown.

Not making fun of christians, but more americans right now on the whole muslim thing.
But I feel like the bible to them is like the User Lisence agreement on all our games,
skip to the end and push accept. Not saying all are like that or agree.

Just my view

Only they know o.o

Creation is a mysterious thing, may be one may not.
But in the end I'll probably just end up in a box or as ashes somewhere.
/shrug I have time though... hopefully
