ooc:
Sorry about the confusing time frame. There's not a whole lot I know to do about it. :(
As long as someone doesn't specifically say "I leave this place" I don't see any issue interacting with them.

@Rekee: Kino went to the gathering hall I believe.

@Quel: Just so we're clear, my character being rude to yours doesn't mean I hate you or anything. It's just role playing.
That applies to everyone else, if and when my characters are rude.

@Everyone: Just for the record, a hunter probably go around fully equipped unless they were departing for their quest.

-

Kino's falling caught the attention of everyone on the first floor, and confused them all as well, looking at each other for some kind of answer. For a few seconds no one did anything, until a red Felyne walked up to the short woman, and put his furry paw on her shoulder.
"Mreow, you alright there young lady?" He asked in a voice deep for a Felyne, giving him the presence of a man. To add, he was very barrel chested, making him large in most senses of the word, and that much stronger.

~

"...I'm one of the hunters assigned to the quest." The hunter replied to Quel, taking a seat at the table, despite the tension between them. "And I assume you are as well." He made his judgement off the 'yes or no' comment. As he spoke, he maintained steady eye contact, again as if he were trying to stare down the smaller hunter.

~

"Yeah, by the looks of it its great!" The caravan leader said, looking around the city for a moment. "Beats the hell out of me how anything bad goes on around here." He shrugged, returning his view to the hunters.

Then, a red signal flare shot up into the sky, deeper in the city, a general sign that there was some sort of serious danger.

Those still out in the city streets (Noeh, Rygar) would have also seen the flare, just from their different locations.

~

Moments after Semaj's landing from the window jump, a voice shouted out "HEY! YOU!"
Looking over, the hunter saw two guild knights running at him, both already drawing their rapiers.

For whatever reason, one of the two knights almost immediately shot off a red signal flare into the sky.

-
ooc: Those still in buildings won't see the flare.

This issue may or may not be resolved quickly. It depends how you (Semaj) handle it.

Things are already getting kind of interesting.

Kino looked at the red felyne and turned red, she grabbed the felyne in a hugging motion in smal tears
";A; I don't know what to do, every male hunters her looks like a rapist"
She glomped the red felyne for comfort

The red Felyne's eyes widened some, not expecting the sudden hug, but going with it. He reached as high as he could with his little arms to return it, and comfortingly rubbed Kino's back, standing on his toes to do so.

"D-don't worry, n-nya, everything is going to be fine..." He was surprised by the woman's fear, since even though she was short, she was NOT physically weak by any standards, even hunters' (6 strength). "They wouldn't be here if they were rapist, mreah, they'd be in one of the camps outside of town."

The red Felyne couldn't help but notice the stares from other people, some just as confused as they were before, some laughing, some looking at the two as if they were a kettle of newborn puppies.

If you're confused by that, don't worry, you should be.

Someone is going to comment on how cute this is.

ooc: Camps?! CREEPY CUTE...
And I had decided not to jump, Semaj was imagining that. But, this is my kind of party, so lets go with it.

-
Not even flinching, Semaj turned to face the Knights. He instinctively reached for his Axe, but his hand didn't move enough to be seen before he realized that would be a bad idea. Rather, he sat still, waiting for the guards to reach him. Then he saw the flare. Watching it fly into the air, Semaj tilted his head slightly. 'Maybe they think I stole something... But why would I be as careless enough to jump into the street if I had...? Not the brightest, are they...' Semaj thought to himself. As the Knights closed in, Semaj turned fully to face them, and crosses his arms.

"What?"

kino picked up the felyne and started to play with its ears
"So little felyne, will you be able to help me with this" kino says shyly
She flashes a paper with the quest "Investigate and Eliminate" waiting for the felyne's reply she starts rubbing its paw "So soft<3"

@Semaj: Sorry about that, I figured you were looking back up at the window sill after jumping.
I'm going to have to get to you tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

@The One: Sorry I had missed you.

-

The guild maids on the second floor were generally older than those below, and probably more experienced, yet just as if not more beautiful, despite their age.
Their beauty might distract certain people away from the fact that some of them carried legitimate firearms: six shooter pistols.
Given their experience at their job, and the strange setting of the city, their skill with the weapons could prove formidable.

"Hmm, Elin River." One of them read aloud as Impos showed her the quest slip, a busty woman with long blonde hair. "I'll get you a map in a second hun. The way things usually work 'round here is, after yer plannin' and shit, you meet up here early in the morning, and a wagon'll take you to the nearest hunter camp site outa town. The rest you probably get." She spoke with a seductive smile, and twisted her body subtly to show off her curves, and seemed to do it all shamelessly. "I'll go get you that map now." She placed her finger on Impos, then glided it across his armor as she passed, looking back when she was behind him.

~

"N-n-nyaaa!" The red Felyne shook himself free and escaped to the ground, not appreciating being treated like a child. He remained polite though, since Kino wasn't necessarily rude, then took the quest from her and examined it. "...Mreow, you probably want to head up stairs, that's where the higher ranks go." His pointer finger pointed upward. "Whatever day you depart, meet here early in the morning and a wagon'll take you out of town, nya. With any luck, I'll be the one driving you." He smiled after handing the slip back, but behind his smile he wasn't sure if it would be fortunate or unfortunate to be riding with Kino.

@General: In this RPG, I have no issue with with the topic of sex being brought up. In fact, plan on it being brought up by me.
However, if you want your character to have sex with someone, things aren't going to be described beyond "They go into the room together" or the back alley, or wherever.

I would be damned if I role played with any of you. (That's a sex joke.)

"...I'm one of the hunters assigned to the quest." The hunter replied to me, taking a seat at the table, despite the tension between us. "And I assume you are as well."

'Hmm...I guess he's just an intense type of person...' was my first thought. My second thought was 'Okaaay I bet he knows something about this quest...and if he's so serious, either he's the leader and knows what I want to know, or he knows something about the quest and wants to warn me..? Or he knows nothing and is just this serious all the time...' :o

"Yes I'm interested in that quest. Sorry for my rudeness my name is Quel-Tharseo, what's your name?" I then held out my hand, smiling in a warm fashion.

ooc: LMAO 17dragonboy! I'm fine I don't think you hate me. This is just play acting.

ooc - felynes... have fingers!? XD and about the sex part... time to get my "husband" in this rp *gets him to sign up*

Kino walks upstairs where the upperclass hunters are. Again she got more stares but they were more menacing and grim like she didn't belong. She was a short female hunter, she never got this feeling back at her home village. She went up to another guild maiden and gave her the quest paper for more details on it...

ooc - still can't get my head out of the sex part XD;;; How far is it able to go? nothing pass macking out and stuff?

ooc: I have a feeling that Impos is going to get some... every girl he meets loves him lol. I'm going to assume that my food is now ready since I was talking to the girls.

After talking to the Guildie, Impos noticed that his meal was ready and waiting to be eaten. Upon receiving the meal, Impos scanned the room and noticed that a short female had appeared and stared at her for a moment, puzzled and wondering how she belonged here. All the while, the fellows at the table were exchanging pleasantries.

"This is going to be a bother" thought Impos as he headed towards the far side of the empty table, away from the other hunters.

Impos slumped into his chair, placed the letter on the table next to him, and began to feast as if he hasn't eaten in days. (mh style)

Joshua looked down at the hand of the Seed's and shook it greeting him with a friendly nod and smile. "Name is Joshua." He said with a smile. Then turning his head in the direction of the red signal flare. "Oh man. I know some people that live in that area. If you'd all excuse me I am going to head there and find out what happened." Joshua said with a bow before waving goodbye to the fellow hunters and the caravan leader and bolting off in the direction of the flare.

ooc- Since my character has technically had arrived in the city a day before everyone. I figured it would be appropriate that I know at least one person that lives in the city. Since I had more time to explore.

Semaj still waits for the Knights to reach him, his mind making life appear in slow motion because of his tendency to observe everything. Upon seeing the guards' rapiers drawn, Semaj cannot decide if he is humored or insulted. Do they really think they can take him? He is not exactly (lol) n00b in the area of human combat. In fact, it was his forte before he began hunting... Semaj decides that if they don't behave like civilized homohomosapiens, he will fight them, in overpowered terms.

ooc:
@Kino- I'm fairly certain he means you can do whatever, so long as you don't describe, rather incinuate what is/had happened/ening. ie, I say that Semaj grab Impos arm with a lost stare, and he drifts behind me behind the barn, and we return a few hours later, happier. Yes, Imp, I used you as the example.

And we are not homosapiens. Homosapiens are the level that beat out Neanderthal. We are much different from those, as we are homohomosapiens.
Teehee.

After a few minutes talking with the guild maiden she turns around. She sits at a corner table to herself and sees a man (Impos) staring across from her. She begins to eat her large turkey leg slowly peeking at the man.
"Another male hunter staring... Must be a perv" she thinks to herself.
She eats the giant turkey leg with one hand and keep her other hand hidden under the table where she places it on her claw like weapons. Other hunters still give kino a glance cause of her being different.

LOL I can see some sexual tension coming on...
So, there are camps for rapists, and there are camps for hunters. Or are they the same camps? :o
Meanwhile, I have a feeling that the threat back at Elin River has some human factor in it. It's not going to be as simple as monsters, is it, db?

RP:

Soen Seeds watched Joshua run towards the direction of the flare, which seemed to have risen not far from the Guild flagpole. Soen considered following, but then decided against it. A fully equipped hunter running through the crowded streets would draw unwanted attention. Instead, Soen turned to Joshua's acquaintance, the one with jigsaw-puzzle armor. Judging from the looks of the hunter's seasoned face and his uniquely custom armor, he appeared to be a veteran. When they made eye contact, Soen gave another lighthearted grin of his.

"Looks like we'd be around the same age, friend," Soen leveled his hand again. "You can call me Seeds. What'do they call ya?"

I assumed that the Weeping Khezu is not far from the Guild Hall based on Quel's post:

After purchasing my exorbitant room I wandered over to the guild hall...

@Squipix: How much of Qabud's face does the bomb squad armor reveal? Or is he wearing a headgear now? If Joshua could recognize Qabud just by looking, I'm guessing that a great deal of facial features can be seen.

@dragonboy: Can we create other inns or are we stuck with the weeping khezu?

fun fact: the price of staying one week on that inn is the same as doing a low rank lao quest XD

And i'm liking where this rpg is going :D

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Rygar had a faint hope that he wouldn't have problems in Maskata. All that vanished as soon he saw the red flare.

"Che!I don't like this one bit. Trouble is coming...and i hope it doesn't have anything to do with the quest i'll be doing." said Rygar now more wary of his surroundings than ever.

The wanted posters not helping to ease his feelings of insecurity.

"Best to see what the others think about this" thought Rygar quickly making pace straight for the gathering hall.

Hoping that good food would drive his worries away and he was just being naive.

OOC : 2 years?! My.. that's a long time. I suppose letting Qabud remember Joshua was quite mistaken, then? But oh well, let's go with it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Sorry I didn't recognize you. It's been some time since our last quest together and your walking around with new armor on. How have you been since our last quest together?"

"Don't worry about that. It's not that I remembered you at first glance either. Apparently, I saw your name listed in the quest invitation they're giving, so I had been expecting to run up into you. Not this fast, though. About that, yes - you see, I'm experimenting with something. And that additional occupational touch demands that I use such armor, apparently. And oh, I've been very fine & fit as you can see, thank you :) . Though I did get hospitalized a few times.. something to do with the new occupational touch I told you earlier."
--------------------------- TIME FRAME SKIP ------------------------------------
*red flare shot up; Joshua left* Qabud's attention turned to the other hunter in Volganos armor that just arrived. Indeed, his only-chin-revealing armor makes him look like a witch doctor from some magic tribe; ominous and mystifying at the same time.

"Looks like we'd be around the same age, friend. You can call me Seeds. What'do they call ya?"
"Qabud, Qabud Bagghiz. Nice to make your acquaintance, Seeds. So, you've been sightseeing around the city? What do you think of it? Does it look as dangerous as the caravan leader described?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC : About my Ceanarmitaur Bomb Suit, think regular Ceanataur armor without the spikes, and that the front part of the helm is hinged, such that it can be opened upwards like a flap. A lock on the bottom side of the helm helps keep this foldable-mask part of the helm from opening & closing during combat. And that the armor isn't made of blue ceanataur shell-plates but rather a mosaic of red Hermitaur and blue Ceanataur shell pieces. Right now, the helm is inside Qabud's backpack, though. So he's not wearing it.

By the way, there's this guy called Bizarre Coyote at the New RPG Sign-Up thread who wants to join.

"This place doesn't look as dangerous," Soen momentarily glanced in the direction of where the flare had risen, "but first impressions can always decieve. Be here a little longer and you'll suddenly notice WANTED posters hanging around. Can't believe I failed to notice that on a first viewing - this seldom happened. Why don't we check out that flare which made Joshua all so excited, Ka..ah, Mr. Bagghiz. How do you pronounce 'Qabud'?"

Lots of posting. It stinks that you guys all come out when I go to bed.

@Kino: Getting your husband into this would be AWESOME.

As for sex, I just don't want to see anything involving the actual action, ei: fucking. I think that would get someone banned, possibly me.
Kissing and stuff is fine.

And yes, Felyne's have fingers, as do cats.
For the record, they (Felyne) have five fingers, since they're also part human.

@The One: All I'm gonna say is be careful. You don't know her, or where she's been.

@Rekee: Hunter's camps are like the ones in game sort of. It's a place for the wagon to drop you off without going in too deep, and a designated pick up spot. It would also serve as a camp.

The "other" camp or camps I can't really tell you about, because that would be cheating. Same with the quest.

I too have always wondered how you pronounce "Qabud."

@Onikilla: You can create your own inns, but it's preferred that they're somewhat near the guild hall, since its said that most were.
I'd like to be the one to describe the setting thoguh. (Expect something similar to the Khezu, since you're in the middle of town.)

I didn't know that about the prices (Lao Shan). Again, I'm really just pulling numbers out of my ass.

@Squipix: I saw coyote.

-

Even though it was highly unorthodox for a guild knight to do, the knight immediately impaled Semaj through the ribs as soon as he was able, running his sword deep into his flesh, then tearing it out.
The other knight ran past the two to Semaj's backside, and kept his free hand at his pistol, pausing for a moment.

~

"Artemis, Creed." The hunter replied, giving Quel a firm hand shake, maintaining steady eye contact. He let his eyes wander after the shake, but kept his expression, possibly confirming Quel's thoughts. His eyes returned to Quel's though, to continue speaking. "You're not from around here, correct?"

~

The guild maid returned to Impos with the rolled up map, placing off to the side on the table. "Here ya go, hun." She said, still smiling in her usual way. "By the way, that man over there is 'Artemis Creed,' one of the hunters on yer little quest." She thumbed at the table with the two other hunters gathered, one large with a tattoo of fire on his left arm, the other smaller (dressed in Barioth armor?). "Look out for him, he's a known killer." Again she glided her fingers across Impos armor as she walked away, but also took a piece of his food, eating it while staring into his eyes.

~

As Joshua and Rygar both made their way towards the flare (around the gathering hall), they noticed a lot of guild knights also headed in that direction, not a good sign.

~

The guild maid Kino spoke to came to her table as she ate, returning the quest slip. "Your team is over there." She pointed to the table with the larger man with a fire tattoo on his arm, and another smaller hunter (dressed in Barioth armor?). (Me and Quel.)
"The big guy's a local, 'Artemis Creed,' with a bad reputation, so mind yourself." After her warning, the guild maid walked off.

Spoiler

I think you know what's up Semaj, and how to fight (if you want to).

Just to clarify on something, if you want to attack WITHOUT clashing, but your opponent wants to clash, you'll have to spend an extra as many points as you would to evade, for ONE attack.
You'd still have to spend points to evade anything else afterward, or for any more attacks.
So a simple attack with a dual sword is 1 point. Say you don't want to clash, but he does. You'd have to spend another 1 point (or 3 if you desperate evade).
If you want to evade any attacks afterward, you'd have to spend another 1 point (or 3).

Also, you leave points aside at the end to clash any other attacks, like guarding, but you'd have to spend points for each attack.
Also also, if you don't say anything about clashing, its assumed you will not spend any points to avoid clashing, but will if your opponent wants to. (If no one wants to, no clashing will do done.)

Also also also, for whatever reason, you may clash WITHOUT doing damage to your opponent, if you specifically say you don't want to hurt them.

"Artemis, Creed." The hunter replied, giving me a firm hand shake, maintaining steady eye contact. He let his eyes wander after the shake, but kept his expression, possibly confirming my thoughts. His eyes returned to mine though, to continue speaking. "You're not from around here, correct?"

"No. Artemis Creed you say?" I said "Your a man of fine reputation. If it wasn't for that look in your eyes I'd say we could be comrades"
I said all of this with a slight grin on my face and a penetrating gaze.

'If I didn't know better I'd say he has the look of meifumado* in his eyes' I thought.

In the remote chance of violence I'll have desperate dodge ready to go...

ooc: I eddited my original post. I thought it was way too bold on my characters part(i.e. I checkened out)But then again I was too late so I'm stuck with it. Meifumado is gekiga from Lone Wolf and Cub. It basically means that you have a look in your eyes akin to a man slayer/ demon. It's a symptom of witnessing too much bloodshed.

I had a pic to illustrate my point, but it was way toooo creepy lookin'. Just look up Thousand Yard Stare online if you want to see what I meant.
