You might want to check what you did in PPJoy. Be sure to test everything in the Windows control panel before starting the game up and make sure it's all working. There is also the usual "hit the yellow button" fix that might work. I would try helping you out a little more, but I don't have Frontier set up to test and troubleshoot stuff. (Although now that summer is here, I might actually get a chance to play again!
I'm also running Windows 7 now, which doesn't help things much. (I'm going to update the guide for 7 when I get a chance.)
Test things out; if you still have trouble, just send me a PM. (I'm sorry I got back to your post so late.)

Whats the problem your having? I'm trying to get back into MHFO so i just set everything up. The config that he posted worked for me the only thing i needed to do was change the d-pad and analog stick controls around.

That will automatically set all of the controls to the familiar, console MH controls we all know and love and might fix your problem.
As always, send a PM or leave a post if you need any additional help.

All the WiFi switch does is swap the analog stick and D-Pad. (The guide is designed for the control scheme if you leave the switch OFF.) If you are having trouble with your controls, you might want to try the other suggestion, too.

I haven't paid for another month as of yet, but I plan on doing so when I get my paycheck. (I wish Frontier wasn't so dang expensive, though.)

My PSP is working flawlessly as a controller and you just saved me money from buying a gamepad. To anyone that gets stuck on the "connecting" screen, boot in recovery mode (holding R if you forgot), and disable RemoteJoy if you have it.

That's an important thing to note; RemoteJoy hijacks the USB port, rendering FuSA Gamepad unable to use it. As such, this rule should apply to ANY plugin that will wrest control of the PSP's USB jack. I'll be sure to update the guide with this and give you some credit.
Thanks!

Step 4: Set the buttons to match these:
TRIANGLE: Button 2 CIRCLE: Button 4 CROSS: Button 3. SQUARE: Button 1. L1: Button 5 R1: Button 6. L2 + R2: Buttons 7 and 8. SELECT: Either 11, or 12 if you want Kick to be start. L3 + R3: 9 and 10. START: Either 12, or 11 if you want Kick to be start.
I was extremely confused as to why my PS3 controller had two buttons for the same thing, the O button. The L1 Button needs to be 5 instead of another 4. I just thought I would clear/fix that up so if anyone else became confused they would know the solution.

- As a side note, it might be worth mentioning that people should swap X with O if they're used to the controls of game like MHFU.

From what I remember, the sky is the limit with FuSA gamepad; most if not all of the buttons are assignable, but there is one problematic limit that the program possesses: FuSA Gamepad only allows a 1:1 map of PSP buttons to controller buttons. Each button can only be assigned to one Controller map at a time, as in Button 1 can only be mapped to one PSP button; not two. This limits our options somewhat.
You might be able to do something like that by assigning +/- to seperate buttons and attempting to configure them how you want in game (Difficult). You can also try assigning them to keyboard buttons using something like Joy2Key if nProtect's cardboard security doesn't get in the way.
As for Triggers and L3/R3, I don't even know if Frontier takes those buttons into account, so manual configuration would be required.
It's up to you at this point to tweak and modify the schemes.
