To make this topic interesting i restricted jhos and elder dragons as answers only to see which of the other boss monsters people thought were tough. Just say which one and explain why.

Mine is the Diablos because of the pain of hunting it. Its powerful and turns into a rampaging bull when it hits rage mode. Its the only monster that i brought the most items for excluding the alatreon. Its also the only monster that could actually kill me cause at times i fail at dodging it (more than every other monster even alatreon O.O) luckily for me it is at most half the time .

barioth, due to its speed, accuracy & damage, this is the only thing that i find most hard to not use potion at all on a quest
barroth, due to its ability to overrun me, not that i can't block, it gets away from my hitzone when i block

barroth, cause its near impossible for me to land hits on effectively (gets out of the way too fast, or gets its head in the way)

Diablos, cause when you fight it in the desert, it is near impossible to get close to and land hit on before it either charges away or digs (especially in rage)

Im not really sure on this one...before I would have said diablos, but ever since I did a bunch of the Dual Blos event quests the single blos quest seems easier...lol i dunno,i guess I'll still go with diablos being that he is my least fought monster (Per Preference).

That goddamned newfangled Rathalos. He flies too damn much and that instant fireball just destroys me.

I don't think there is a "toughest" monster for me. I have a list of monsters that I consider very ANNOYING, but not tough.

First up is Diablos. Enough has been said.

Next, Rathalos. He flies a lot more, which is a change from the PSP versions, but it's annoying. He may as well not have any legs.

Barioth is annoying purely because he can teleport across the map. Oh also, his rebound-off-the-wall-spin-like-crazy attack is just bulls*it.

I completely agree with diablos being a female dog compared to the previous games but i dont find barioth all that difficult especially with djinn SnS

I have no problems with Diablos/Barioth.

My only real issue is with Barroth, I simply do not enjoy fighting him. I guess the new Rathalos can be a bit of a jerk too.

I wouldn't call them "tough" moreso along the lines of annoyingly frustrating.

Barioth: If I lance, SnS or even Gs, he's easy but w/o a blocking weapon his insta-lunges and jumping off the walls are a pain in the ass when they catch me off-guard..
Did I mention his insta-lunges are annoying as shit?

Agnaktor: Only because everytime he turns around...well you get the idea what happens...and when he digs, his "leap out of the ground towards you in a spiraling fashion repeadetly up to four times" attack will most of the time hit me, whether it was directed to me or not...
Other than that, he's just a plain bitch...

Diablos: His charges have a bigger hitbox now which makes me keep away from being under him. His digging may not be as fast as mhfu (where he just immediatly digs towards you after digging in the ground in G-rank) but it's still annoying that he spams it alot...during rage mode...

I find it hilarous that sonics only work during non-rage mode on the diablos and it digs the most during rage mode.
I have say that the other monsters can be pains in the neck sometimes except for the weaker ones.
Some of the other monsters i have trouble with would be lagiacrus for being underwater (Dodging underwater can be hard sometimes), and the uragaan only if Im not hammering it (thats just me).

Gobul. I don't know why but this seems to be the only monster that consistently kills me.

I can easily take down R. Ludroth and Lagia (in the Flooded Forest even) but that damn angler fish almost always finds a way to get me.

dont know about 1HKO (doesnt make a difference, its kills pretty quickly) but for the rest of it that sums up why the blos is hard.

I honestly cannot say that I have any problems with the new Diablos. I don't believe he's ever killed me, except maybe once or twice in Blood Sport.

None are tough, just annoying Namely:

1. Diablos, digging, rage, fought in big areas... nightmare

2. Gobul, just cause he's underwater <.<

3. Barioth cause he'll just combo you all day long...
