If you're talking about carves, there are tons of stuff you could give up. Potions are cheap.

I believe this thread is for posting "stupid things you've done". Not "posting stupid things that you do all the time because you are stupid and don't know any better".

The way you put it, what was stupid about what you did was taking the carves from the prior mission. This made me think you indeed didn't know any better.

The prior mission was a gathering quest I took to the volcano to get ores that I need for weapons. You just assumed it was a hunting quest, and you see what happens when you assume?

Another good point is that I posted it here at all. The fact that I acknowledged it was a dumb mistake means I am very likely trying not to make it again, and already know what I have to do to remedy the situation.

I mean, you'd think so, right? It can only be implied.

When I first started the game, I had a difficult time and would often hyperventalate while I played games if they became too intense.

So for the longest time when I played with my friends I would run around in circles, hit the monster once with a SnS and then run away. Then repeat. But hey, I never died.

I'm also very forgetful, I often forget cold drinks, whetstones, and potions. But not as much anymore.

Luckily for me I had avidly watched the videos by Bobo86, and others on youtube, so I knew to stay away from Jho, and to expect his appearence. I had hunting buddies who didn't...and they fell to his might.


I for one used to think the gong damaged Jhen...until a fiend of mine said to me:

"You know the gong doesn't damage him, right? It just stops him."

"Uhh...no I didn't know that..."


I had probably hit that gong at least ten times before that; at random times just to damage him...sheesh. Now I know.

Well, I have a few from both FU and Tri.

Me and 3 of my buddies all got together to get our weaker (he had a gf, so that made him the weak link in monster hunter) friend full Rathalos and G2. Me and one guy are using Master Blaze, the weak guy has like Silver or some other insanely stupid choice of a fire longsword, and the final friend has Icy Impact, or whatever the highest Ice Hammer is. We're doing fairly well with our crappy weapons and armor (the 3 good ones are clad in full Lavasioth X and Kushala Glare for Focus and AoU) and we've balanced ourselves well on item usage. Well, the 3 cutting weapons have been full-blown on the tail, and the hammer gets mad. "Guys, I will cut the tail." We're like "Fine lol." He cuts it off in one shot with a boomerang! Sounds epic, right? It lands on top of the rock in area 4 and the Rathalos charges off the edge. We banned him from bringing boomerangs.

We were doing the dual G Rajang arena quest, me and the hammer. One guy's in LavasX/Kush for Focus and AoU, he's using Axion/Icy Impact (the best Ice Hammer). I'm using full Narga X for Constitution and Evade, and the C.Blango Decimator. We're getting straight up torn down. He dies for the second time and I'm alone. I see them both charge a hyperbeam directly at me and I, a GS user to my grave, use my spirit combo right as the fire. Oops.

On our third Yamatsukami we figured out how to dodge his suction, so we were all doing amazing. I see him begin the suction, and it was at the point that he needs 8(I think) bombs, so I run up, all prepared to spam this thing. 6 Paintballs later my 3 friends who were cheering for me are inside the Yamatsukami. Oops.

On Tri, recently, me and a friend were capturing a Royal Ludroth with a random. The random grabs the EZ and wastes it when the Ludroth is in area 9. That's okay, I still have... dang, no traps. We send him to kill cats to get another one, and pursue. We get it to area 12, nobody has traps. I'm the only one with healing items, so I've got my Horn on full blast. Then my friend, who's using the TV right next to me in real life, screams out "COVER ME I FOUND A TRAP!" While searching for healing items he found a pitfall trap. As he lays it I play a hunting horn. Where did I play it? Right where he was setting the trap. Roll attack. I got smacked. Oops.

mine was in a fight with a Rathian

I just finished mining in the secret area in the desert zone and i left to help fight Ian. i got to the next area....and my "impeccable" timing allowed me to catch her back flip the second I was in the next zone. the blow sent me flying back into the previous area i came out of.
to add insult to injury, the flip, of course, poisoned me

the noobish part of this is that even now...my timing really sucks lol

I laid a pitfall trap against a jho then it ran out.. Waited for the pitfall trap to go so I could lay my shock, laid the shock and then one of the other team members died so quest failed T_T

Also, going on a 'slay 20 uroktor' quest hoping to get some ancient shards then realising I have no cool drinks, no bones and no pics xD everyone else had mega's so they couldnt give (and I doubt they'd wanna xD)

Doing the 'Speak of the Deviljho' event for the third time, and I spawned next to Jho. Due to my lack of Steaks, I used a Farcaster to get supplies. I arrive back at Jho well after the others, and thay are slightly irritated at how long I took. Luckily, I win back their faith by placing Drugged Meats around just as Jho gets hungry. Jho falls asleep, and we place our LBB+ next to his face ready to detonate. I decide to take it further by placing a trap for when Jho wakes up, and where better to put it than under Jho?

Jho woke in the trap, and the only thing the bombs hit was me, after I attempted to detonate in time with a kick. -.-'
