the fable series has been on a downward slope since the LC.
2 didnt even have a true final boss fight. the dog was annoying ,the online sucked ,and they even had the useless feature of getting STDs.

Fable II tried to do something and not push the typical and expected final boss figure at you. Admittedly, it could have been done better and made it a little harder, but I don't think Lionhead Studios were trying to make Lucien a final boss type of character. There was more to that game than just, go here, kill that monster, choose something, go somewhere new, buy a new weapon, kill the final boss.

When you say "the online sucked", what exactly do you mean? A lot of players I met were more interested in joining MY world so that they could act like idiots and kill everyone, and have me be punished for it when I played solo. However, it was my fault as I let them in. If you're saying the online sucked because of something like that, I'll agree with you. You must remember though, that's what Fable is about. Actions have consequences.

I personally thought that Fable II was much better than Fable and Fable the Lost Chapters. I loved what they did with Fable II and am eagerly awaiting game number three.

So tempted to troll the OP...

But anyways.

Fable 2 was fun and good experience, it wasn't a hardcore gaming experience
but more about the atmosphere, story and characters. That's why a lot of people don't like it
because its not what they expected.

The final boss was disappointing in that he died when I tickled
him with a feather, but over all it was a enjoyable experience.

The Fable series seems more about taking the traditional RPG
and going in a new direction. As the series goes on
the game starts look less and less like a normal RPG game
and more of a mash of different gaming elements, which
isn't a bad thing.

Fable 3 sounds good to me because you can defeat the final boss character half way though the game
and then you get to run the country!

How many games do you play when you have a huge castle you own, tons of money and swords
you defeat the final boss and its over? Did you ever wonder what happened afterwards?

Sim elements, you can still go out and do stuff.
Things will happen like riots and you can tell the guards to qwell it or go out yourself
and kick some butt.

I think that if you keep comparing Fable to other, somewhat similar games, you're never going to find unique and different in what Fable offers.

Peter Molyneux said himself in countless interviews that he wanted to push the Fable franchise on and in a different direction. I can see why the second-half of Fable III might cause some anger if it does indeed turn into something like the Sims. I hope it doesn't, and I'm sure it won't.

The idea of Fable III is possibly wrap up the events of Fable II, and to give you a sense of power, ownership and accomplishment. Throw in the RPG factor and numerous choices/consequences and I think that ruling a kingdom is going to be very, very fun indeed.

It's called sandbox. It's better than having the game end at that point.

I felt the whole game was too easy. It was fun to play through a couple of times but I would have to agree with the multiplayer being horrible and pointless. The game was easy enough and then throw two people in there. Pointless.

I liked the dog, just wish there was more you could do with it like have it attack more or something. Instead it digs up useless items.

I still want to play the next one though.
