@  Drako : (19 June 2013 - 03:26 AM) Oh mai lord Lebron is going off
@  Jask : (19 June 2013 - 03:06 AM) Yeah, as I said, I entered the final area just under 10 minutes in. Didn't even get a chance to use the dragonator in the first area. Killed it in 14:28. Using G rank gear on a high rank Jhen, though.
@  Astraeus : (19 June 2013 - 02:58 AM) ugh, forget it. im done with dark souls tonight. gankers in the forest have supplied the past hour with misery and anger. lol. time to go play adhoc.
@  Astraeus : (19 June 2013 - 02:57 AM) yeah, it was easier to accomplish this is p3 because of the higher damage output to him. what time did you get it at? i think the earliest i got it was around 10 minutes in.
@  Jask : (19 June 2013 - 02:55 AM) I always knew you could get him into the final showdown early, I just didn't realize you could do it THAT early.
@  Astraeus : (19 June 2013 - 02:54 AM) haha didnt we talk about this a few days ago? or maybe that was with B@t. but yeah, his zone change relies on a damage output. once you hit a certian amount of damage he will skip attacks.
@  Jask : (19 June 2013 - 02:39 AM) Oh wow, I didn't realize you could skip the dragonator opportunity on Jhen if you did enough damage. Made it into the final showdown in just under 10 minutes.
@  Mad Hatter : (19 June 2013 - 01:00 AM) If we must. Sorry to bail but I think I'm gonna play Borderlands 2 for a while. I'll update later tonight.

There was a deep and wide path running through the forest, shaped in such a way that one might think a stream used to run through it several years ago.
Four hunters were following the path, in search of a bear like monster called an Aoashira.

They came to a point where the path did a ninety degree turn, and had a large tree fallen over it (elevated enough for one to crawl under).
Just beyond the fallen tree, right at the bend, was the Aoashira, sitting on its butt eating the honey from a bees nest.

ooc:
I assume all primary weapons are drawn (and the crossbow is loaded).
You can try to get creative with this, or just charge in.

It may be a nuisance, but each time, please specify your action and what you're targeting. Remember that aiming for specific limbs makes things harder. Put "torso" for nothing special, even if you're aiming for say the ribs.

Imitative Counter
Spoiler

So this first round (when it comes), everyone will get to act. (If you guys are just moving around, getting into position, it won't count as the round.)
I'll probably display two rounds in advance, and cross off (if not delete) passed rounds.

@Sunfish: Because you're the only one acting next round, feel free to take two actions.

Action 1: Slip under tree and out other side before firing bolt at Aoashira.
Action 2: Slip back under tree and out to where I started before starting to reload.

ooc: May I ask why Sunfish can act every round while we can't?

Latheron didn't like the idea of attacking an Aoshira just eating dinner. It wasn't even aggressive! "What the hell's wrong with you?!" He asked Sniper as he grabbed him by the neck collar and yanked him back. "It's not even aggressive towards us! It's only eating honey! What's so evil about that?!"

ooc: Evade if necessary.

ooc: A couple of questions please. How would it be possible for a person with a loaded large bow to crawl under a fallen tree? I am sorry if I have no right to ask that but it kind of stands out.

The counter is a bit confusing to me.

And lastly, why would we attack an Asoshira in its own home environment just eating honey.

ooc:
Regarding why you're hunting this Aoashira, I presumed it was your quest objective.
If I had to make up a reason, I'd say it's harassing traveling convoys.

To clarify about Sunfish, I presumed his crossbow is loaded and deployed, but his bow is put away on his back (not loaded).
The tree would be a few feet from the (low) ground as well.
(It might make more sense if he crawls partway under, shoots from a prone position, then crawls backwards back out.)

As to why Sunfish can act every round (and everyone else can't), it's because his initiative is higher. By a substantial amount too.

To explain the initiative system, or counter system, or whatever you would refer to it as (try to bear with me for the confusing vocab):
You have a counter number. This is equal to your initiative plus 30 (minus any penalties). If you have an imitative of 75, your counter number is 105.
(I listed your counter numbers in your character data.)

You have a counter, which starts at 0. Each round, your counter number is added onto this. If your counter number is 60, you'd go 60 to 120 to 180 to 240 etc.
When your counter reaches 100, you get to act. (and I subtract 100 from your counter).

So for a guy with a counter number of 60:
Round 1: 60
Round 2: 20 (120 - 100 = 20) Gets to act
Round 3: 80
Round 4: 40 (140 - 100 = 40) Gets to act
Round 5: 0 (100 - 100 = 0) Gets to act

As you can see, you might not act every round.
Rather than have rounds where only Sunfish does something, I just have him act twice.

Hopefully those answers make some kind of sense and are satisfying. I can try to elaborate more if needed. (With the system, frankly you probably play without fully understanding it.)
If there's any more questions, feel free to ask.

I still don't think it's fair that Sunfish can act twice while we can only act once.
And harassing convoys? Seriously? That's hardly a good reason. And it's not even doing anything to harm us now! We could walk right by and it'd ignore us. That convoy would have to of purposely antagonized it. Bears aren't naturally aggressive creatures, DB. Only two reason why they would attack come to mind; You attack them, or they have young nearby. And if this Aoshira has young, I'm out.

ooc: It's just a game, chill out blaster. And how is it not fair? I spent my points on initiative for this exact reason rather than on combat skills, you could have done the same.

ooc: It's the system, deal with it. Your complaints are like if Sun was complaining your character has more (whatever you put points into) than his. You chose your skills, he chose initiative.

ooc: Do I even need this to type OOC here? I'm not even in this rpg. <.<
Well anyway, I think you're right, we cannot condone this action!
Hunters who actively seek out to hunt wildlife must be stamped out of society!
Hey wait, what's this...

There has been a sharp decline in the intake of materials from the outside world in Yukumo Village. Multiple merchants of the village have been complaining for days about how their stocks have not been arriving at all, the caravan carrying the goods often found smashed into bits on a side of the road, and the materials they once carried all mysteriously vanishing.

The mystery has been solved thanks to an eyewitness who had been traveling alongside one of the caravans on his way towards the village. The eyewitness said that the caravan had reached a turn deeper inside the mountain streams, and it was at this moment that an enormous blue creature resembling a bear had taken its opportunity to tackle the caravan, causing the goods it carried to spill out. The eyewitness fled for his life shortly after the attack, but had stated that he heard the sound of teeth gnashing behind him as he ran.

The caravan was found later on when a group of youngsters decided to investigate, the cart already utterly destroyed, and the once fresh vegetables and fruits it carried rotting with a putrid stench by the stream. The fate of the caravan rider is still unknown, but one of the teenagers claimed that he saw a trail of blood leading away from the caravan. Given how multiple caravans have been mysteriously vanishing, and their riders' location still unknown till this day, it can be safe to say that all of them had met a grisly end at the hands of the beast.

The guild has pinned down the culprit behind the cruel acts to the monster known as an Aoashira. Aoashiras, also known as the 'Blue Mountain Bears' because of their tendency to make their home environment in the mountain streams due to the abundant amount of resources there, are general docile creatures who spend their days lazing around eating honey.

What most people do not know however, is how intelligent the creatures really are. Aoashiras are omnivores, and generally devour everything ranging from honey and meat to berries and fruits. One could say that it was sheer luck how one of the beasts had realized how traveling caravans often carried fresh food, but it is undeniable that the culprit now possesses knowledge of that, and used it to its advantage, tackling the caravans as they traveled past its territory.

Thanks to its recent intake of a vast variety of food, the Aoashira behind the incidents had grown incredibly large, and had claimed its place as a menace in the mountain streams. It had also been aggressively widening its territory; though several caravans had tried to take alternate routes, none of them had been seen after they departed for Yukumo.

With the resources in the village at an all time low, the Guild has dispatched a group of four hunters to deal with the dangerous beast, in the hopes that the numbers will make up for the difference in size. Whether the combined prowess of the four would be enough to overcome the monster which had developed a taste for human flesh remains to be seen...

Holy shit, kill it.
KILL IT WITH FIRE!

P.S: There, you have a reason to kill the bear now. If not to save Yukumo, then to get revenge for the people who died and ended up as a snack for it. I can keep going if you want, but it's pretty pointless, innit?
@ DB: Feel free to delete this post if you think I overdid it.

ooc:
@Epic: That was a very interesting read. Where'd you get it?

@Blaster:
Regarding Sunfish:
As has been said, he spent his points that way. That's his strength. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses.
Though you may consider it a menial detail, he's only acting 1.4 times as much as you guys.
This is called "experiments" for a reason. If it becomes a huge problem, I'll try to fix it.

Regarding the Aoashira:
Though you may not care, the Aoashira hasn't noticed you guys yet.
I'd be surprised if there were no exceptions whatsoever to usual bear behavior. I wouldn't want a wild bear living right behind my house.
I didn't even think I'd have to provide a reason for fighting it. As Sunfish said, this is just a game, and that kind of stuff isn't what this RPG is about.

In any case, you seem intent on leaving, and this doesn't seem fun to you anyway. If you decide to stay, I get the feeling you'll get upset again later and another argument will ensue.
Please make your decision, because I think this is annoying people and wasting their time, like every other unnecessary argument you seem to start.
