@  Jask : (17 April 2014 - 06:39 AM) There's been growth and recognition over here though, and that's an important change. They're also making changes to the series that matter more over here than Japan, like built-in online and more story.
@  BizzarreCoyote : (17 April 2014 - 06:37 AM) Might be too little too late though, with the way Capcom is performing lately.
@  Mad Hatter : (17 April 2014 - 05:07 AM) Ah, I knew it was in that range. About time it gets a little recognition.
@  Jask : (17 April 2014 - 04:57 AM) 3U is the 6th MH title to hit the States.
@  Mad Hatter : (17 April 2014 - 04:54 AM) Finally, after like 6-7 titles, people have heard of it.
@  Jask : (17 April 2014 - 03:30 AM) It's actually gaining traction in the West. 3U did pretty well here, and people have actually heard of it now.
@  Basukesu : (17 April 2014 - 03:14 AM) But it reflects that lives move on and the fact that MH is probably losing traction among western players. Fun though it is for the rabid fan, not so for the non-rabid fan who can move on. Btw what are we talking about?
@  Basukesu : (17 April 2014 - 03:13 AM) Everyone has wandered off...it r make me sadz....
@  Halcyon Dtier : (16 April 2014 - 11:20 PM) over 9000!
@  Mad Hatter : (16 April 2014 - 09:20 PM) Nice.
@  Jask : (16 April 2014 - 08:55 PM) Raged Gore Magala, Generu Serutasu, Aruserutasu, Kirin, Azure Rathalos, Feral Wyvern Virus Rathalos, Feral Wyvern Virus Kut-Ku.
@  Mad Hatter : (16 April 2014 - 08:48 PM) What are the figures?
@  Jask : (16 April 2014 - 07:41 PM) New MH figures out, just a month before I go to a convention. Here's hoping they show up at the dealer's hall.
@  Masamune : (16 April 2014 - 04:57 PM) It's too bad I don't know how to code stuff, or I would do it myself.
@  Jask : (16 April 2014 - 04:56 PM) Welcome back, mass mine. Unfortunately, the person who coded these backgrounds, Kaos, has wandered off.
@  Masamune : (16 April 2014 - 04:53 PM) There should be a Silver Los background. lol
@  Fan : (16 April 2014 - 02:00 AM) well maybe thats it, its blue and white and thats common, because now that I think of it, it is just one picture and some colors to match it :P
@  Mad Hatter : (16 April 2014 - 01:48 AM) Blue and white, rather.
@  Mad Hatter : (16 April 2014 - 01:47 AM) I think I prefer the Magala theme more simply because there's already so much blue on the internet as it is.
@  Jask : (16 April 2014 - 01:33 AM) I'm rather fond of the Azure Los one, find the Gore Magala one too dark. To each their own.

The sig is terrible but its the first I've ever done!:P so lets get into the intro, this is elemental monsters weakness guide. This is basically a quick reference list to find what monsters are weak/resistant to what, just hit ctrl+F to find your monster and a listing beside it to show it's weakness and strength. (Later a resistance part will be added in!) I did this guide because I have seen it being asked of others what weaknesses monsters have and here I aim to provide a quick way for you to find out! :D I have made this guide soley on the basis of what I have experienced in the game myself, referencing the armour section in the shop and also referencing other guides for corresponding facts.
Feel free to hand this guide out I hope you do, don't publish it without written permission This isn't something to be re-sold to people, this was made to be free and I would like it kept that way :)

Any monster with a * means its effective just not their primary weakness but it's still of note. I use this type of listing for epic hunts generally, I hust see whats the most common weakness in a group and try exploit it by referencing this.

FAQ
****

Q1. How effective is element really?
A. Generally it can really make a difference in a fight, especially with something like SnS'. I usually go with a good raw and decent element, as a general rule. Unless I get some bitchin' looking weapon thats also pretty good. Yes I am shallow about my weapons sometimes over pracicality. But Element is effective, don't under-estimate it! E.g. fatty armour mode, or bounce attacks, element is effective but raw is nearly useless in these situations. There are some monsters that have major elemental weaknesses that I always abuse like plessy or los.

Q2. Why did you do this guide?
A. Thought some people might find it useful :) I knew I would've when I started. not many guides have resistances/weaknesses grouped in categories for multi monster comparisons either.

Q3. Do you have any other guides?
A. No. This was my first hope you enjoyed it :) I think I might make others in the future though if I feel compelled enough.

It's really irritating to have to scroll left and right for the Ice and Dragon weaknesses, especially since they're in the middle of the code box and the scroll bar is at the bottom.

As a result, I've taken the liberty to move them down a row. I've also changed a bit of the wording - "Q: Why did you do this guide?" as opposed to "Why did you make this guide?" and Velocidrome's negligible elemental resistances, as well as a few others I don't really remember. I've also formatted the thing so it all fits into one code box, with no need to scroll left and right. Think I missed a bunch of spaces, though, which is why the scroll bar is still there.

I've also changed the monster listing format thingy. For example, rather than "Monoblos(White too) the guide now says "Monoblos/White Mono." and for Plesioth, rather than "Plesioth(Green too)" it says "Plesioth/Green Ples." I feel it looks more professional this way and it's still easy to "ref with Ctrl+F".

For Unite-exclusive monsters, I've added the P2G names - or the Unite names if the P2G name was used. This applies to what is now displayed as Ucamulbas/Ukanlos, Naruga/Nargacuga, Volganos/Lavasioth, and Hypnoc/Hypnocatrice. Yamatsukami is exempt from this change as "Yamatsukami" and "Yama Tsukami"... well, not much of a difference there - not enough to warrant changing anyway. One-Eared Garuga is also exempt. I don't remember what I did to Plum Hermitaur and Terra Shogun.

(The real reason is that "Yama Tsukami/Yamatsukami wouldn't fit properly.)

That should be the extent of the changes I made. Oh, right. I also went through it and corrected all, or at the very least most of the typos.

EDIT. Missed a couple of the formattings. I've changed "Shogun Ceanataur (Red too)" (or whatever it used to be) into "Shogun Ce./Terra S." so that it would fit.

This is a listing of monsters according to what element you should NOT attack them with if
it can be helped! I always use this because I'm always forgetting some monsters have
resistances that aren't obvious and so I always forget that they have it!

**Cephadrome, Kirin: Elemental attacks are nigh on useless against these two monsters.
***If I haven't missed any then any monster missing has a general resistance to elements or
else a negligible resistance to element (like Velocidrome, for example).

FAQ
****

Q1. How effective is element really?
A. Generally it can really make a difference in a fight, especially with something like
SnS'. I usually go with a good raw and decent element, as a general rule. Unless I get some
bitchin' looking weapon thats also pretty good. Yes I am shallow about my weapons sometimes
over pracicality. But Element is effective, don't under-estimate it! E.g. Fatty armour
mode, or bounced attacks, element is effective but raw is nearly useless in these
situations. There are some monsters that have major elemental weaknesses that I always
abuse like Plessy or Los.

Q2. Why did you make this guide?
A. Thought some people might find it useful <img src='http://forums.minegarde.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I knew I would've when I started. Not many
guides have resistances/weaknesses grouped in categories for multi monster comparisons
either.

Q3. Do you have any other guides?
A. No. This was my first hope you enjoyed it <img src='http://forums.minegarde.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I think I might make others in the future
though if I feel compelled enough.

This post refers exclusively to the Mediafire download.

If I'm reading this right, there's an error in your guide. It states that Fire is needed to break Chameleos' Horn, when the required element is Dragon. Furthermore, Chameleos is (IIRC) actually more susceptible to dragon than fire - they deal the same amount of damage on the head, but while invisible, Cham takes reduced fire damage (this is most apparent for DS uers on the legs).

I'm also pretty sure Daimyo Hermitaur is not spelt "Daiymo" - this occurs multiple times.
