Carrying over a character results in keeping your level and that's about all I've experienced so far.

That's pretty cool. I'm probably going to start playing on hardcore right off the bat so having that boost will help out. First though, I need to hurry up and get my current Mass Effect 2 file completed so that it's ready for import!
EDIT: Just a quick question - if you keep all your skills when you import a file into ME3, does that mean you HAVE to play that same class? Or can you import, for example, a Vanguard ME2 file but play as a Sentinel on ME3 with the imported file?

I'm mainly curious at the effects of my choices from the first two games. Can't wait to be playing and then see the Rachni just come out and kill a bunch of Cerberus or something because I saved them.

I plan on replaying through ME1 and 2 first though, just to make sure I have everything the way I want it.

Wrex wants to get laid.
Garrus is still doing calibrations.
Mordin can't stop talking.
Everything is good so far. Except, you know, for the Reapers.

Lovin' the new look of the game and the way it starts instantly. No fifteen minute long cutscene or something, just right in there! I am a little disappointed at how the characters respond to you. Like when you get to explore the ship for the first time most people are like "Oh, hey." In Mass Effect 2 people were like "OMFG it's you FGFGHFGFG!" or something...
I'm also not very sure about how I feel regarding the space travel/exploration. I've no idea how long/big the game is but as far as I'm aware, there's very little/no scanning planets and finding side-missions. If somebody could prove me wrong I'd be grateful. I loved that aspect of ME2. I know you can scan planets and stuff but it just seems like there's very little room for side-questing on the planets.
Also not happy that the multiplayer isn't splitscreen! I played the Unknown Enemy against the Reaper faction as an Asari and I loved it but it was hard playing solo. I rarely play games online anymore and having to play with complete randoms just puts me off a little. Oh well.
Regardless, everything else is awesome. Hopefully the game is as big as ME2 or bigger!

Going to reply all the games from the start as you need to do multiplayer
in ME3 to get the good ending. This is a bit crap really as it's been single player
for 2 games and I don't want to pay for xbox live.
