I started playing this game recently and have been loving it. You're dropped into a randomly generated, block based world. Almost everything is based on cubes. When you break a cube, an item cube often drops. You can then place the cube down, giving the game a Lego style. Apart from placing blocks, you can also craft them together to make items such as pickaxes, swords, stairs, and minecarts. A variety of natives exist, from docile cows and chickens to aggressive skeletons and creepers. There are non-cube items that can be dropped by monsters and certain terrains. These items range from food to crafting materials. The main directives of the game are mining, exploring, and building. People have made amazing structures and cities.

The graphics aren't amazing or anything, but that fits with the cube-based visual style. It's about on par with the N64. People have made plenty of skins that aren't too hard to apply, and with a little work you can make your own.

It's currently in alpha, possibly nearing beta. Updates and bugfixes happen fairly often. It's done in Java though, and takes a surprising amount of RAM. My machine runs it alright on medium settings, but it's usually eating up around 500mb of RAM. At least it doesn't take up much hard drive space. Multiplayer was recently added, but is still fairly buggy. I haven't tried it yet, not sure if my connection can handle it.

I've only been playing for about a week. I've dug some large mines, done a fair bit of exploring, and made a basic base. I'm quite proud that I've created a waterfall going down the side of the hill my base is in, and dug out a window behind it. I've now considering adding two streams of lava flowing down either side of the entrance. It's a little risky, but would look awesome. I've yet to start working on tracks and carts or farming, really should start on that.

It's an indie game for the PC. Updated the first post. I realized that I really missed a lot of information.

When I read the title, I thought this was a Minegarde RPG with Starcraft flavour.

Yeah, a compass would be awesome. I really need to learn to use the sun/moon for that. I've made a tower to the max height to help find my way home, but it only helps up to a certain distance.

I kinda want to get this, from what I've seen, the graphics are so purposely low grade that my PoS computer might actually be able to run it smoothly.

Knowing me, I'd get some elaborate plan formulated, then get distracted by building giant letter "Q"s.

The game is designed to be able to be run over a browser in Java. It may be intended to run on lower systems, I'm not sure. Unfortunately, since it's made in Java, it uses a horrifying amount of RAM. I have 2gb of RAM and it's using up around 500mb. This is on the download client. I'm not sure if the browser client has the same problem, I dislike playing games through browsers.

Currently it's free, as the site is a bit overloaded. It is officially Free Trial Weekend until he fixes the site. After that it will be back to one time payment of 9.95 Euros (online payment). However, if you have the game downloaded from the trial, you'll still be able to play, just you'll be stuck with single player and won't be able to update.

Also if you are a nice person, and have friends who want to play.
You can give them your account and password and they will be able to play also.
There isn't a limit on the amount of computers you download to.

I think everyone should buy this as it's a indie game.
It's currently one guy with a few staff and we should give him all the support we can.

I've sunk many hours into this game so far for free, but I'm totally buying it
soon as the website is back up as it's worth every dollar.

I do buy all my games legit but if I didn't I would buy this legit
as the game comes from one guy not some huge corp like EA.
