We could remarket ourselves as a online gaming community that specialises in MH info.
Maybe get a new url name and logo? I'd be happy to help make the logo.

DOOMSAYERS.
But really, if we became a general gaming site I wouldn't mind. I guess. I do however have a natural nastiness towards new members that give me bad first impressions. But who cares, I prolly won't be around.

That and, TriG comes out in 5 days here in Japan and I am sure the big N will take it to the west as the 3DS is going through a rough period getting titles out. I am sure then interest will pick right back up.
And if it doesn't it just means waiting a little more for the next more accessible MH to come out.
Bottom line: have some hope =)

MH has always been a bit of a niche game, I suppose it's to be expected that its popularity fluctuates

The Agetec forums for example. I went there to talk King's Field back in 2000.
Mark Johnson announced "The Death of King's Field" in 2006.
We all kept talking King's Field.
....even now, approaching 2012, there's still a few people talking King's Field. (not as many, and there aren't really much new things to talk about)
...but more people frequent the Playroom, the more "free discussion" section of the boards.

Another example.
The Nosgothic realm board.
There hasn't been a new Legacy of Kain game since 2003.
There's still a few people there talking Kain/Raziel.
....more more people (actually, its still really active) frequent the Wolf's Tavern, the more "free discussion" section of the forum.

I'm no soothsayer, but my prediction is....
10 years from now, if things are left the way they are, there wouldn't have been any Monster Hunter games released for a couple years, but a few people will still post here and talk Monster Hunter.
....but more people will probably post in "The World Outside" than anywhere else.
My view (if it means anything), please leave it the way it is.
Its not broken now, and won't be broken 10 years from now.
The monster hunter boards will still be here for monster hunter discussion....
....and we'll still have a place to be spontaneous with our monster hunter buddies.

A short addition to the above post: Besides the occasional spambot, the only places that are really used currently are from "the world outside"
Without any new western released games, this site will completely fail, and will not work as a social forum, or generic gaming forum without massive overhauls.
