I think a lot of Western companies are jumping in to make MH-games to fill in their absence.

Can't say rip-off, the gaming industry for MMORPG is moving to non-targeting system which is similar to MH. Games like TERA, C9, Dragon Nest and this new game is a prove of it. Not exactly a new thing, since games like DMC and dynasty warrior have the same concept, just it didn't happen to MMOs until now.

Everything seems awfully generic these days. Even Dota are having similar games, it was unique 4-5 years ago. And now a heck load of indie games coming out after mine craft success.

I hope something new and fresh pop out soon. Else we be playing the same game with tweaks here and there.

Quake was a terrific idea, (doom before) but look at all of the games similar to it after it came out. Using it's engine.

When a new idea comes out, and it is a hit (at least for video games) people will use it, but the thing is, newer brighter ideas come from the use of the old. It provides a new base for new ideas to come out.

In other words, cant make new shit without the old shit.

I always wondered, games have flaws and good points. And it some good stuff about it can be combined, wouldn't it be great? Not saying is very original(like it matters nowadays) but having all the good stuff thrown to one game might make it work.

Of course there a limit and it would depend on what kind of game you are playing. Like skyrim+dark soul+monster hunter. I bet some of you guys have a similar idea. I can see dragon dogma mixing a those games together.
