Here is the formula for Festival Results:
(World Cup Bonus + Total Guild 入魂) / (Total # of participants that gave 入魂)

So there are only 5 possibilities to calculate the Festival Results Bonus:

Winning Team, Top 100: 100 + 400 + 500 = 1000 P
Winning Team, Not in Top 100: 100 + 400 = 500 P
Losing Team, Top 100: 100 + 200 = 300 P
Losing Team, Not in Top 100: 100 = 100 P
Tying Team (virtually impossible to happen): 100 + 400 = 500 P

If you are the guild leader, you get the 2x bonus multiplier.

If you see your calculations page once you claim your P, it should look like this:

I can only give points on friday saturday and sunday since have tests from monday-thursday.

I want to contribute points for the festival, but I am a bit confused on what "secrets" are and how you do them.

Could anyone fill me in on the subject?

"Secret", or "シクレ(shikure)" quests are just quests that give you increased festival points. At some point starting on Wednesday or Thursday, the GMs will secretly designate one specific quest for about 3-4 hours, and it's up to the players to find it and then spam it to hell. The next secret quest then comes in about 6 hours, and the players rinse and repeat.

Thankfully, the JPs are nice enough to broadcast what it is as soon as they find it, or you can find it live-updated by them on this one site, I forgot which.

Correction: Shikures are usually two hours.

The best bet to get into one is just to look for advertisements including シクレ as Monomyth stated. Even if you have no intention of joining, you can open the quest join window and get the quest name, and monster info, so you can post it yourself.

Only the LOSING team can do Shikures, except apparently on the weekend? I don't know how that works though, I don't remember that being the case back when I used to play.

Outside of Shikures, to get points, there's a list of monsters at the Festival lady and how many points they give. Pay attention to the second tab, as that states what you MUST do to gain the points(Cap, kill, or either).

Weekend Shikures are usually shared between both Red and Blue Team.

Yeah we lost. Blue is 300k behind for the 10PM Shikure, which means they will shoot ahead of us and we won't be able to make it up with the morning one before Maint. We got the 10PM one yesterday and it took them 3 to get back up to us. Damn this sucks =( We never win.
