I hate to say it but I'm having fun with it.
What's so bad about it?

But still I see a lot of people disliking it for some reason, I actually want to get this if I wasn't planning to get Skyrim.

I was highly disappointed with it for many reasons
1. Weak online play. you cannot progress offline unless you try the online guild (at least in the JP version) so that meant a laborious solo jaunt on an multiplayer mode which was quite frankly, not worth it. Once you clear said trial, you had to do it all over again for the next tier, to top it all off, you have to physically turn on your wifi and enter the guild hall to even attempt the quest, there is no other way to progress offline.
2. The so-called motivation is nonexistent, aside from bleeding everything into a bloody pulp the progress is so stifled and unimaginative that it really just drains your patience long before the second act even starts.
3. Boss fights are unintuitive and mindlessly depended on quick-time events for you to even have a snowball's chance in hell and that begins from the first boss and sadly continues all over the place.
4. The character models were limpy and lanky from my point of view. The backgrounds were nice but too small and quite dull once you got further out, this is one game in which length was a painful exercise in degrading visual appeal and story cohesion fared even worse for a SE game.
I could go and on about this...not my top pick by any means.
I tried to find some good reviews of this game but alas...

Every time you battle, you enter this little ring and hack away at some baddy
Doesn't seem so bad, but the hassle is when it gets so time consuming and so mindlessly tedious that you just flee or run or w/e
also it's the same with bosses. Hack away and don't get hit.
Of course, these are my personal reasons. These should in no way affect how you enjoy the game

Just like how we never get tired of Lvl 3 GS charging a tigrex to the face!
Oh no.
And I can't make anything in the demo I'm playing it until I cannot level up my weapons...

Where you need to get proper placement and make sure you have a long enough opening to make sure you can pull through with your charge unscathed while hitting the desired weakspot and causing massive damage
Arcana has none of this. You run up to an enemy and press the buttons it tells you, then you watch a small bloody cinematic.

No.
MW2 was amazing. I couldve compared it to Battlefield, THEN it would be insulting to the series.

This isn't RM.
I'd suggest you rethink your choice.

The graphics on this game were "meh", the monsters weren't anything special. Sure, you get a cool Quick-time event or whatever it is (God of War style) finisher at the end of every boss, but once you realize it's the same finisher over and over again you kinda get bored quick.
They tried to fix the lack of weaponry with "magic", which was pretty much just different colored circles on the ground with varying effects, but magic in the game is pretty much ONLY for that purpose: Afflicting an enemy with a status effect. The piss poor damage and required mana to cast it makes using your weapon a better choice. Oh, and it's basically a must for fighting slime type monsters late game since they reflect/block/guard physical attacks, but even then your magic is only to soften them up for your weapon.
As for the weapons, you could only use one "skill" at a time, in a mastery sort of way so that one skill unlocks another and you can rank up the skill. So the game forces you to grind for skills, in addition to weapon and armor grinding. That's good and all IF the skills unlocked were good, but if I remember correctly there were some skills that absolutely sucked compared to the previous ranked skills. (For instance, that ranged weapon, firelance? Once you get sniper stance it's basically the best skill for it.)
There was also a sad attempt at a storyline, which failed miserably. Honestly I think the only thing LoA has going for it is the "Square Enix" logo that appears at the beginning of the game.
Also, ever tried fighting that gryphon monster without a firelance and it decides to troll you by flying around? It's like fighting Rathalos in Monster Hunter who decides to spam the "Around the world" aerial attack, only this time the gryphon is programmed to do that attack EVERY SINGLE CHANCE it can get.
TL;DR:
Pros:
Has "Square Enix" logo appearing at the beginning.
Cons:
The monsters were "meh".
Graphics weren't good.
Weapon selection low.
Conclusion:
-> If I want to play a slow but steady paced game that sets my blood pumping, I'll play Monster Hunter.
-> If I want to play a fast paced anime style game that makes me go WOOPWOOPWOOP I'M DA BOSS, I'll play God Eater(s):Burst.
-> If you gave me the option between playing Lord of Arcana and watching paint dry, I would pick the latter.

Ok maybe you're right, so if I was to get it, how long would it last me for?
