Well i started to gun last night for the very first time. Did a Great Jaggi, 2x Great Jaggi and 2x R. Ludroth missions. Was more fun then i expected, but i need to learn alot.

Used a Normal S gun set where i gemmed in precision +10 on my charm over Critical Eye+3, that and i lack the Jhen Barrel (by 1 scale+...). Sure eats your ammo fast if you load 9 a time o.o

I love normal spam sets. Sometimes I reload even when I only took like 3 shots.

This topic deserves a bump

Got alot more into gunning, got a ala clust set, my normal set, and working on a status set soon (probarly taking out of this topic though ). Working on a Pierce set but i lack 1 stout horn to make Diablos gun armor...and the damn thing won't drop.

Need to check for a nice element set too.

Hmm i can do without the steadiness, not sure how much reload speed does. I'd enjoy Recoil Down alot though. But thanks for the info

Fair enough but what about this set:

Skills: Sneak, Element Attack Up, Pierce S Boost, Bonus Shot

Equipment -

Head - Lagiacrus+
Chest - Lagiacrus+
Arms - Diablos+
Waist - Lagiacrus+
Legs - Uragaan

Charm - One with at least +2 Elemental

Weapon - One with 3 slots

What you need Sneak for lol? Like the other 3 skills though, not sure about Pierce boost with elemental shots.

Sneak will make the monsters target you less. More useful for a gunner than a blademaster but you don't have to have it.

You may be hard pressed to find a set that fits your exact requirements. What's wrong with having a Pierce S Boost on an elemental set? Some elemental shots act like pierce shots.

@Joker, are there? I didn't knew about that, do they count with Pierce S boost then as well or just Pierce Shot lv1-3?

Also didn't knew about Sneak, i guess it could be usefull yeah if you have no shield on your gun, as doding is a pain sometimes without a shield to block with.

I apologize, but I haven't played Tri nor made any armor combos in a very, very long time. But there should be some pretty good ones already on the list. Hope that helps.

Trying to recall some sets I usually use from memory, since I cannot get to my file currently.

My latest set was something like this:

Armor(from top to bottom):
Diablos+
Diablos+
Diablos+
Barioth+
Barioth+

Gun (frame/barrel/stock):
Rath+/Barrozooka/Diablozooka

With the gemming and charm (or which I can't quite remember it right now) it was pierce lv1 up, pierce s boost, evade +2, steadiness +2, and element attack down in skills, I think...


Basically, a full High Rank version of Vampire Cosmonaut's set in his FAQ. Took it out with a friend, and we just laughed at how large the pierce 1 clip size was (11). It's been my go to set lately, when I'm not wearing Guild or Archer for fun.


I do have one gun combo that I and the same friend stumbled upon when messing around with gun ideals. I believe it was rath+/jhen/bari in terms of parts, but I cannot be certain. Was a neat little gun though, we liked to use it with full ignot+ and other sets that could control it's recoil.


Would love to post my other sets, but my situation right now is a bit, well, monster hunter-less.

A fun set I recently found
