Well, what instrument do you guys play? Let us know. Especially if you picked "Other". And if you dont play one, which would you like to learn? :)

If you do play/make music, feel free to post where you do and what you play :)

Edit: Forgot to mention what I play.

I play drums, piano, guitar, and a little bass just for fun though :)

Most likely, BUT, I searched for the word "instrument" in this forum and found no matches, so.... here it is. :)

And cool, how long have you been playing?

Both acoustic/electric guitar, wish I could say after almost 2 years I'm good at it but the
deeper you go with an instrument the more you feel that it is impossible to master.

Mebbe that's why, it's instrument.

Lulz I keed, I'm no grammar nazi.

Piano and violin, from elementary to high school. I'm pretty good with drums, but I don't own any. Good as in, I can sing AND drum, while keeping beat, even though I only play drums when I'm at a friends house.

Does whistling count as an instrument? I'm a boss at whistling. I can play guitar, but whistling can go anywhere :o

Haha I hadnt noticed I didnt type it correctly, but I did when I made the search.

Piano and violin are such amazing instruments, thats awesome. Trumpets are cool too :)

Ive been playing piano for a little over two years, about the same with guitar and drums. Drums however I sort of started a long time ago, just never really picked it up until later.

And yeah whistling definitely counts! lol

Oh yeah forgot to say I've only played both for a year, I played flute only for third grade, though. I actually would want to continue learning the violin in school past high school but I don't think that's possible.

Yeah I know that feeling, but its only because you start to realize how much there really is to music, how it all fits together and how theres always something new to learn. But that just takes a lot of time and dedication. And I'm sure you are good, its just when you're the one playing you tend to be more critical of yourself. (I do that with every instrument I play)

I'm sure its possible. If you have to, do it outside of school. I'm pretty much self-taught on everything I play, but have had a little encouragement with piano lessons for a little while and my dad showing me new things. But if you really want to, you should. :)

Like I'm on acoustic on guitar right but my original intention was an electric guitar for metal, my mom and bro don't think I deserve an electric yet.
So I kinda get what people mean when they lose interest to play.

Vocals, acoustic, electric, little bass, and drums. I main vocals though.

I don't have any of myself, but my music sounds something like this, without the Beat.

Well electric is pretty much the same thing as acoustic, but with metal there tends to be a LOT of solos or weird single note things, all which build on a foundation most likely built on acoustic. Theyre all based off of and operate within different scales and such. Dont lose interest, just stay focused on your goal.

I went into guitar with the same mindset, but now I prefer acoustic. It just has such a rich resonating clean tone.

So you sing hardcore stuff? I cant even imagine screaming like that... itd tear up my throat. I used to be into that sort of music, but I completely changed what I listen to now.

Aren't drums fun? :)

Edit:

Oh man, tell me about it. I was just searching google for barioth pics and this just stood out to me. It is such amazing art. It came from a site with a lot of pics like this. Its like everything I wanted in an avatar pic and I feel it shows me pretty well :) (thats exactly what my guy looks like in tri lol)

Personally I wouldn't really agree with that, it may just be because I don't play with a pick (I'm a plucker) when I'm on my acoustic but both are clearly separate from one another. It's not that I don't strum
it's just a large part of my selection just doesn't use it. When I sit down with my acoustic I don't compare it in anyway to my electric, my mind set and the mood I play it in is just to different.

I guess it also depends what you play but if your doing old school rock with electric(ex ACDC) then they are going to be very similar to acoustic, and there are songs they use single notes but if you take a band like opeth and look at there guitar it's totally different play style.

Right now I'm focusing on barre chords and let me tell you it's annoying.
I know I'm meant for electric because I usually tend to randomly just start doing those melodic hammer ons with bends and pull offs and vibratos and such.
But I guess it's good to learn the basis before doing the cool stuff.

I have played the piano in the past, but have been lax in my practicing for the past few years... :/

I do miss piano playing...

I'm definitely going back to music, it's a self made promise.

Piano for over 20 years....
Guitar and drums for over 10....

Jeez I'm freakin' old.

I noticed the name of the thread said what DO you play, not what COULD you play.
I think anyone that can play guitar COULD play bass.
