I've heard some really bad things about PVP for demon's souls. Like people (ab)using that magic field for the lag, and (ab)using soulsucker and just drain people of their levels. (like knocking someone down with a weapon, and then using soulsucker on them before they can get up and roll away)

Some dicktard was bragging on a different forum about stealing 25 levels in one day of play.

There's a simple countermeasure. Become a Hyper-Mode Mage spamming Firespray. It's so broken that 1v3 is considered a cakewalk in 4-1.

I love the online, just wish I had decent access to it. Yeah, there are some dicks, but you find that everywhere, and it makes for good stories. Lag is there, the servers aren't exactly top rate, I'll give you that. the MHTri servers kinda sucked too, so it's not that uncommon. I'd bitch about the Demon's Souls servers a little, but I don't think it ruined the experience. So yeah, there are some issues, but god damn is it fun! Story time!

I was running around 1-4 in full Binded armor with the Meat Cleaver and invaded this guy. I finally find him and my anus clenches. Full brushwood armor with Dragon Bone Smasher in one hand and Meat Cleaver in the other. Shit. "It's okay," I think, "that's a lot of weight, he probably can't roll for shit." Nope. I take a swing and he rolls like a nudist. "Shitshitshitshitshit." So I take it cautiously, we exchange swings and dodges. One of us will get hit and heal, then we go back to the cycle. It was just a matter of who would fuck up first, and I lost that game. Good lord was it epic though.

I was running through 4-1 in body form, hoping someone would invade me, when my desires were fulfilled. I don't see him for a while, but he finally shows up, runs right fucking past me and vanishes thanks to his rings. I go back to fighting skeletons and a couple moments later he runs past again. He doesn't attack me, just runs past. This time I try to take a swing at him, but he goes by fast and I catch dust. The next time I time it better and come close, he dodges and continues past. Again he swings by, but this time takes a swing at me, I dodge. This goes on a couple times until finally I fuck up and roll off the edge. Drive by invasion. I'm sure laughs were had on both sides of the internet.

One of my favorite pastimes has been being the boss in 3-3, always a good time. On my first character I got ridiculously lucky and got a Guillotine Axe my first time through 1-1, so I took some pleasure showing up in the boss fight wearing Miralda's armor and dual wielding Guillotine Axes. Intimidating as fuck. There was one time in particular where I think this tactic worked. The guy comes in with a Meat Cleaver, sees me, shits his pants, and pulls out a tower shield to hide behind. We run around each other a bit, he blocks most of my attacks, takes a swing and I dodge. This repeats a few times until he hits me. At this point I see that he does not have the strength to be one handing a Meat Cleaver. The damage is pathetic. I decide to show him how it's done. I pull out my Meat Cleaver, two hand it, knock him down, and quickly dispatch of him.

There is one instance where lag screwed me over that sticks in my memory. I invade this guy and he sends me a PSN PM saying "plz leave". My friends and I laugh and continue looking for him. Suddenly our connection drops. We're a bit irked by this, then we see a second PM: "thnx". We rage. We didn't disconnect to let him be, we wanted to kill his ass!

I don't understand rolling.... I rarely ever do it. The only time I roll is if my stamina is low, and I'm close enough to be hit by their swing.
....even False Allant, I didn't roll much.

I've got a tower shield+5 and it blocks EVERYTHING.

Also, I got my Endurance up high enough tonight that I can wear my heavy armor with no strength rings, and still run and roll full speed.

Also, I have my favorite experience run. I gained so many levels tonight doing a variation of this.....

Yeah. After a few days of really giving it my all, I really started to get something out of the game.
After so much abuse, a normal reward feels Godly...
...sort of like a cool glass of water on a hot day, as opposed to a room temperature day.

Meanwhile, New Game+ is going well. Go figure, it took two attempts to beat False King Allant, and 4 attempts to beat the Fool's Idol. *shrugs*
I'm Soul Level 224 and the Meat Cleaver is still my main weapon.... and I KEEL so much with it.

I'm a little disappointed with the Dragon Bone Slayer. I still do more damage with "the meat" (probably my high dexterity and faith) and I don't like that it looks like a big wrench. ._.

Made myself a sticky +5 compound long bow. Wow. This thing is brutal. I took out the blue dragon in no time!

Yeah Meat Cleaver has two S boosts, it greatly outdamages Crusher in not time. And it's lighter, with a really good ranged roll two handed attack.
