It even provides a chart to compare 3DS sales and the next closest popular game on the 3DS. It seems that the release of MH3G has boosted sales to about the level the 3DS reached in sales when the system debuted. (though it should be noted this seems like systems shipped data to me)
ANyways that is all for now on the MH3G front which is surprising, usually the reaction is much more frenzied in Japan, but it has been relatively hush.
edited to account for proper number translation.

Thanks for the info. Argh, why aren't there more videos on YouTube?

It could be that it hasn't performed as well as was hoped. Notice the article is kinda sneaky, relates sales of 3DS to the release of TriG which is probable but still. Correlation is not causation. So it is logically flawed in this regard.
Again I am not picking up tons of enthusiasm here in Japan akin to what it was when MHP3rd was announced.

endgame means final boss. Not every game has HR9.

Not quite. According to Media Create a well known and respected source for video game and console sales figures:
- In its first five days, covering December 1 through December 5, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd sold 2,146,467 units.
- In its first five days, covering December 10 through December 15, Monster Hunter 3 G sold 521,959 units.
It's the longevity of the sale curve that counts. MHP3rd had a strong opening an kept topping charts until Feb this year.
If MH3G dies off around March this year, most likely they'll announce something for the Vita around Jun to Sep.
Additional sources:
EDIT: By the way, haven't seen this mentioned at all but Vita is backwards compatible and MH looks better than expected on it.
Obviously not super amazing revamped graphics but have all the past titles on one device is not bad.

Yeah but also with video games generally. When you get older things start piling up:
- Recently finished a degree, I can't find the time to play anymore.
- Outdated consoles (PSP, DS, 2 year old laptop). Only PS3 left standing.
- Close friends who I usually play with have moved on.
I still have a substantial amount of free time but after spending it playing video games it just doesn't feel as rewarding as it used to. However I'm in the midst of developing an Android game with a bunch of friends just for the appreciation of video games.

In Japan like my other places, the recent hardware line up is not really striking a chord with the general public, 3DS sales while robust are still a shadow of what they used to be for Nintendo portables, even with MH on the boat for 2 serial titles it doesn't feel like it is helping the big N that much. I think they are just going off shipped data and not "to end user" final sales on this. Sony is the same way when it comes to masking or hyping failure/success.
The Vita too is losing appeal here and it has been out for 2 days.
Time will sort out this tale, but if the line up is thinning for the 3DS I am sure the Big N will bring it to the west to round out the numbers. Still it is looking like the whole 3DS venture is mediocre at this point.
