What greeted me in the light was a caramel skinned beauty, with long brown hair decorated with streaks of green the entire way down to her hips.
My eye followed her hair down her toned and slender legs, then started to work their way back up her body.
My mind didn't have to try hard to imagine what laid behind the embarrassingly short grass skirt that barely hid her bottom, and I didn't have to imagine
at all when my eye locked on to her bare chest.
Nothing could have pried me away from this beauty until the door leading back into the mansion opened, and the smell of blood and the sound of
metal ringing came flooding into my mind.
I quickly ran out to the clearing and cut my way through 3 of the 50-or-so creatures that surrounded Alex using my scythe.
"Where the hell were you?!"
"Sorry, but at least I found what we were looking for."
Alex looked over to the doorway that I had just come from and saw Sytri.
"And why the hell is she naked?"
She slammed the handle of her Leviathan into the back of my head.
"Sonuva... Nothing happened!"
I suddenly felt a strange presence between me and Alex and instinctively swung, but stopped when I realized it was just Sytri.
"If you don't have a weapon, it'd be best if you ran."
"I didn't think they wold be this far along yet. Baal certainly sped things up. It's time I joined the fight."
With that she pulled me over and kissed me. I could feel a surge of power coming from the pit of my stomach and leaving through my mouth, into Sytri.
As she pulled away, Leviathan came into view between us.
"What do you think you're doing?"
"You shouldn't be so possessive, Mara, it's unladylike."
Alex's eyes shifted to the demonic blue of Mara for the first time since she awoke, the veins around them pulsing bright blue.
At the same time, horns were sprouting from her forehead, but were only only about the size of Mara's.
Even the air around her started to to send out sparks of blue electricity, which finally snapped her out of her anger.
"Wh-what's going on?"
"Our Kings awakening has granted us more power."
As she spoke a pair of horns sprout from her head and started to branch out to resemble deer antlers, while her eyes changed to a demonic green.
I could even feel my own power begin to grow. I shivered as the cold metal of my arm started to spread down my back.
I was happy when I realized that I wouldn't stand out anymore then I already did, but that quickly disappeared when I felt my mouth and lower jaw stiffen and deform.
As Alex and Sytri started to stare, I brought up my blade to check my reflection. I now had a large black metal bar completely covering my lower jaw and stretching up and over my mouth.
I opened my mouth to see if I could still speak, when the metal split open, following the movements of my jaw. Beyond my new metal teeth, could see my human mouth was covered but not replaced.
While I was trying to get used to my new mouth, I had forgotten about the creatures that were surrounding us, and didn't notice one of them drawing a bow back and aiming for me.
My only warning that something was wrong was Sytri dropping to the ground, and a soft thud beside of me. As I looked towards the sound, my heart jumped, an arrow was stopped just a few inches from
my face, embedded in a wall of dirt and rock. I turned my attention over to Sytri, who had both hands on the ground and was focusing in the arrow.
"Ah, that's right, you had control over earth didn't you? Mara also said you had the spearmen of the south too."
I reached down and helped her up.
"Either way, it looks like I owe..."
I stopped mid-sentence to quickly spin around her , and outstretch my left arm, sending sparks flying from the impact of the arrow that had been aimed at her. Eventually my momentum led me to the
ground, with Sytri landing on top of me.
"Now we're even." "Not yet, my King."
She got up and started to pull on a small green handle that was now protruding from her palm, when it separate from her body, she was wielding an 8 foot long pole with a drill at the tip. She spoke softly to her weapon as she stood, "Lets make our King proud, Empusa." She slammed the blunt end of the pole are into the ground, while the drill started to come unfurled, revealing a silver flower. The drill, now acting as the petals, started to spin, sending a thick fog of pollen over the battlefield. As the air began to clear, I noticed quite a few of our enemies shaking, and some of them had a panicked look on the face.
"The pollen I just released fully paralyzes only pure demons, so we're safe, but they can't move an inch."
"Got it, don't hold back."
All three of us launched from the center, each aiming for their respective third. As I ran ran for my group, my hands flew up, creating strange forms, which resulted in a large circle floating in front of me followed by four smaller ones fanned out behind it. Just as I touched the first circle, I could feel my body coming apart, and as I rushed through one of the smaller ones afterwards, I instinctively slashed at the world that was now blurring past me. As everything came to a stop, I turned around, noting the three copies of myself that quickly vanished, and watched all but one of the demons turn to dust and scatter in the wind.
A also looked just in time to see Alex swinging her sword, sending a large arc of electricity cutting through the group, turning them to dust, while also noticing the large spear like stones extending from the ground around Sytri, and ending where the demons 'were'.
I grabbed the back of the last demon standing.
"Now, who was the leader of this little 'outing'?"
The demon tried to laugh as best as his paralyzed body would allow him. I jerked him down to the ground, stepping on his chest.
"Who is your commander?"
I ended up just barely noticing the shadow that had been growing underneath us, and jumped back just in time to avoid the claw that slammed into the helpless demon instead of my back.
The dust that had been building from the impact was quickly scattered due to the explosion of wind coming from the now outstretched wings of the giant beast.
"Well met, Bird-brain."
"It's Griffin! You bastard, I'm going to shred you into pieces!"
"Not before I clip your wings for good."
I stabbed one of my scythes into the ground, allowing it to slowly change, and walked over to inform Alex and Sytri of my plan. After everybody was up to speed, we turned to face the Eagle/Lion demon.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
Take all the time you need, it'll just make my victory all the sweeter.
The scythe I was still holding fell limp, and started extending into a rope with hooks at each end.
"That arrogance with be the death of you."
"Come at me, br..."
Before he could finish his sentence, my hooks flew by his head and wrapped themselves around the base of his wings a few times before digging into his flesh, the rope extending the entire time, leaving me in control.
As my expected reaction, the monster let out a shrill scream before taking off. I kept hold of the rope while also grabbing Alex as the griffin started to accelerate straight up. About half way through our flight, I let the rope loosen to act more like bungee cord, and waited for the line to slack.
As soon as our pilot broke through the clouds, I felt the line slack, and immediately created a jet of flame from my feet, rocketing us past past the dumbfounded bird. I could feel the cord stretching till it was about to snap, then slingshotting us back towards the demon. I gave Alex the signal when we were close enough, as planned, she pierced him with her sword, sending all of us plummeting back down to the forest below. As we landed, Leviathan managed to slip out of Alex's grip, sending it deeper through the eagle and firmly implanting both itself and the beast to the ground. Alex climbed off the back of the monster, leaving me as a spectator as Lucifer took full control of my body, grabbing hold of both wings.
"To the victor, go the spoils."
With that, he started to pull with every ounce of strength in my body. I felt sick as I heard the bones snapping, and the tendons and flesh tearing soon afterwards. With the griffin left screaming and only stumps remaining, Lucifer threw one of the wings aside while he started to suck on the still dripping end of the remaining wing until it was dry. With Alex's audible vomiting in the background, and me wanting to do the same, he finally jumped off the broken and bloody creature.
"There's no way in hell you could ever beat me."
He walked to the right of the creature, around the runes Sytri had set up, ans stood next to her and the railgun the scythe had finally transformed into.
When she pulled the trigger, her spear accelerated out from the barrel and headed straight for the runes, which appeared to be the same type I had used earlier.
As it passed through the first rune, it split into four copies. As they touched the second set, they quickly sped up, almost instantaneously embedding themselves through the griffin's tail, two through it's chest, and the real Empusa skewering itself though both eyes, causing the body to cry out one last time before falling limp. Sytri retrieved her weapon from the animal's skull, causing the body to be engulfed in a bright blue flame, and me dropping to my knees, finally regaining control over my body. As the memories of the battle played over again in my mind, I threw up, trying to get rid of the burning feeling in the pit of my gut and the taste of blood out of my mouth. The blood I was able to expel boiled in a blue flame much like it's owner. I continued to cough up a few more drops of blood, as Sytri started to rub my back.
"Don't worry, his power is now yours, his blood lives on within you, that is the power of my Lord."
I could only clench my fists in anger over how Lucifer could take so much pleasure in causing pain and death. My radio crackled alive, Sam on the other end asking about our mission, I barely had enough time to request a pickup before my body collapsed, numb from the increase in pain coming from my stomach.
