I have been watching out for AC:V ever since the first teaser. I'm so amazed at how far From has taken it. I can't wait to get my hands on the game and dust off my Raven's license.

OMG Carry-over infrastructure gameplay?!

Quote

The goal, as Nabeshima explained it, is to have the game's online mode be a seamless, persistent extension of the single-player campaign -- for instance, teams will have to set up defenses, such as turrets, in their controlled territories to protect them from attackers while they're offline. Piled on top of the series' ever-savory mech-building formula, these multiplayer features have officially sent our interest in Armored Core 5 into the stratosphere.

Exactly, it's definitely going to be fun battling out across the map now. There's also an Operator Mode during online. You'll have one player take up the role of Operator and they are seated in front of a map of the battle zone and advise and watch over the rest of the team as they move throughout the map. I'm not too sure what else they can do at this point. It would be nice if they were allowed to use the turrets and such during a match though, albeit just a fan's wish.

Also, there's a new thing called an AC Viewer where you can pan around your AC and look it over as well as watch it go through the movements. And What this sniper favored Raven finds most amazing...is that there is a crouched stance for sniping as well as an Unfolding shield mounted to the leg! The language is in Japanese, just a heads up, turn down your volume 'cause they can get pretty loud. lol

A new thing about the weapons too, like how in the past, Crest cores would feature Overed-Boost , I think they have Overed-weapon now
and the fact that they're not giant robots anymore doesn't phase me at all
might be cool actually

Yeah, they've apparently cut the ACs size in half of what it used to be. I'm perfectly fine with it too. I hope the cores each have their own specialties similar to the 3-LR days. I also wonder what variety of Overed weapons will see.

 I can't believe there wasn't a thread for AC V before this... It comes out this month, right? I saw a Japanese demo video of it. The combat seemed less hectic than AC 4/AC4: For Answer.

I hope the reboot helps AC as a whole though...

The smaller AC's means the game focuses more on strategy and stealth this time around

Indeed, I hope you truly have to rely on your Operator in the multiplayer mode. I would hate for that to just be a position to delegate to your worse teammate. The images of the conquest maps look amazing. So, who else wonders about the type of defenses you're allowed to place to defend when everyone is offline? Would you hope for more than turrets? Maybe even a few MTs?

I know Tuddle, I've been playing AC for years, and I've known about AC V for a long time. :P

What I meant by less hectic was I didn't see any intense fighting. Tactics are all good, but I need intense fighting to go with my strategy.

Totally agreed, I hated AC4A White Glint because he wouldn't stop moving around, that kind of movement really makes blades useless

Several!? Yeesh, I didn't know that. What I read didn't say anything about delays... -3-

Anyway, I've seen video guides on how to beat white glint with energy blades. Granted they were the end-of-game-super-powerful energy blades.

If the lag online for ACV is as horrid as in AC IV and FA, forget it. No fun in taking 30,000 damage out of nowhere, when there's not a single weapon pointed at you.

EDIT: Can I also say that the trailer for ACV looks more like a trailer for Chromehounds 2?

I never cared about justice and I don't recall ever calling myself a hero... I have always only fought for the people I believe in. If an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it!

I remember Chromehounds... Almost an old schooler game by now...

Just, the ACs look bulkier and heavier, and they look "realistic", from a design standpoint. Add to the fact that they're adding in an "Operator Mode" to MP (Command Class in CH), and it sounds like they took what was good with CH and refined it..which, by the way, I'm not complaining about. If this is the case, I change my mind. I may just pick it up after all.
