Hey everyone!

I'm the guy that created the universally loved/hated Alatreon sleep bombing tutorial:



As MHP3rd HD is coming out in a scant month, I'm looking to re-do this one last tutorial as it apparently causes people a lot of grief in Greed1. Allegedly, I caused a re-occuring epidemic of sleep-bombing there, and I'm trying to create another tutorial to alleviate it. I'm coming here to Minegarde because you consistently have the best players.

What we're looking to make is a variation of this tutorial here:



The only difference is that the tutorial is going to be designed for the common player, meaning only two spots are going to be necessary to cooperate to get the run done. The current line-up is:

Bowgun User (For status)
Hammer User (For KO)
Melee User 3
Melee User 4

We're going to leave 3 & 4 open to the public, but we will personally use another hammer user (to speed up the 2nd/3rd KO), and a great sword user (for helping to get the tail/wings).

As such, I'm asking here for suggestions/volunteers.

All you need is:
US Copy of Tri
Skype
Headset
Skills with the Greatsword/Alatreon

The goal is to have all breaks except for the claws done and have the quest completed in under 6 minutes. If interested, please list your Skype name here. If you could all recommend someone you think would be good for the quest too, it'd make it easier to find someone to invite.

Hmmm, i can brush up my skills for the Great Sword, since i was once pro with it, but i lack the headset for skype. what i do have is a webcam with a built in mic. will that be sufficient?

If it seems bizarre, that's because it is. This was all born out of an enormous flame-war with our friends over at Capcom Unity. The plan is to make a guide with fewer requirements needed for sleep bombing, while still being somewhat efficient. The idea being is that so long as 4 random people who meet up in Greed1 can bring at least one gunner and one hammer user, they should be able to break the horns or wings without any problem (they'll need to coordinate to get both).

I figured that while I was making it, may as well open it up to a community I haven't been active in to participate as well. If Minegarde isn't interested outside of Black Lion, I could be on my way!

Still don't get the speed run part.

A common player guide wouldn't delve into any specific weapon formations, only give recommended armour and weapons, with general tips that can be used for any weapon class and armour combo. Such as which weapons should attack where, what ammo to bring as a gunner, and how to use the walls to your advantage.

A speed run would neglect anything and just go for exploiting a weakspot with overpowered weapons in the fastest possible time.

Semaj and One, you guys are the ones throwing around the term "speed run." All I've said is that I want to create another narrated tutorial for Alatreon as a supplement to my sleep-bombing tutorial, and I'm looking for help.

People are just as intentionally difficult here as they are on other forums I guess?

I could help with the Greatsword/Hammer. I'just need to download skype and know how to use it. Of course since I'm brand-baby-bottom-spanking new to the forums I have no-one to vouch for me, if that matters, since it should. Maybe i could write up some Monster hunter credentials or a resume. XD

Also about the difficulty of the forums... Thats just you Shepard, I think you got a bad rep everywhere. And i dont think this kind of thing is something the "Common" player would do. Most unorganized Alatreon runs take from about 30-45 minutes, depending upon who brings the low-rank gear...

btw, I do watch the podcast every week. On a side note, i have broken one wing and both horns with 2 lances and 2 Greatswords with bombs while she is on the wall. Took about 20 minutes.
