For gunners: which is better to use on which set?

For Pierce S, I have Critical Eye+3 but is Attack Up L better?

For Normal S, I have Attack Up L but is Critical Eye +3 better?

For blademaster: Which weapons would benefit most from Attack Up L and which would benefit most from Critical Eye +3?

I stand by the belief that a constant increase is better than a probable one, always. It's like a 100% chance for a boost vs 30% for a higher boost.

I think high raw weps benefit largely from AUL.

Just do some math.

Attack up large adds +20 base attack to any weapon type.

Any weapon that has an average attack bonus of >20 with critical eye factored in is theoretically better than attack up large.

Are you talking about tri or p3? I
am looking at Barbarian Sharq P and without AuL the attack is 627 and with AuL the attack is 676 (without charms)

It seems to have added 49 base attack power.

Imo you should be bothered about balancing them
Att up small with CE+1, or att up med witg CE+1
you only need 1% point ti achieve a critical hit that deal 125% damage
So what if your boosted attack have criticaled? Profit!!!

It adds 20 base attack in every monster hunter game, in every game except for P3rd the weapons have a class modifier.

You got the games mixed up a bit. On Tri the weapon class modifier is in effect.

Reread what I said.

Every game except for P3rd has the class modifiers.

Its irrelevant to any damage formula weather the game uses a class modifier anyway, because damage is calculated off of the base number.

For the record, Talon adds 9 base attack, claw adds 6, demondrug adds 3, and mega demondrug add 5.

Base power is not the raw listed on the weapon, its the raw on the weapon divided by weapon modifier.

Can you tell me what the weapon modifier is for each class?

What am I missing here?:
barbarian sharq p w/o AuL

627(weapon raw)/3.3 (LS class modifier)= 190 base attack power

AuL is +20 to base attack power
190+20= 210
210 * 3.3= 693 (weapons new raw attack)

In the game with AUL, the attack of barbarian Sharq p is 676 not 693.

676(raw attack w/AuL)/ 3.3(LS class modifier)= 204 base attack.

Generally Critical Eye+3 is easier to get, put on Rath cap, a +7 expert charm, and another 3 slot piece of equipment

Attack Up comes on sets with other tasty skills, like Adrenaline and Sharpness+1, For me it's about what skills you can get to complement the two that will give one or the other an edge

I've read it. It says the AuL skill is weapon class modifier*20

627 + (3.3*20)= 693
627 + 66 = 693

I'll check it again when I get home.
I do believe my game glitched because

627 + (3.3*15) = 676

so even though my armor skill said AuL I was getting AuM bonus.

Anyway: which weapons benefit more from AuL and which benefit more from CE +3? (as in the first post)

I'll do the math when I get home but it won't be for a while.
