I started to get back into blades after I hit high rank on hikaru (full gunning), and I am loving the SA. I have only hit someone once in my hours of playing with a full group, and I have done significantly better with the SA than with the hammer and GS (My usual bladed weapons). Is the common thought of SA users still "WHOEVER USES THEM ARE NOOBS AND SHOULD DIE", or is it more of a "If they don't hit me they are fine" thing. Just curious, because the SA is hella fun and I am doing much better with it than before.

I very often use the SA myself, so I'm a bit "genre blind" I think, but most of the time, SA users are just fine. They can be a pain in the ass for lance users though, so an extra amount of consideration is required here. Simply gotta remind yourself that this is teamwork after all, so you don't have to land every attack at the cost of crippling everyone else. I'm usually pretty considerate myself, only go sword mode berserk if my team mates are no good at all, hehe. How 'bout you?

You do look incredibly suave and badass when you use them, but they feel really weak to me. Axe is quick but very weak and sword mode has a limit to the time that you can use it, and it makes you kinda immobile. Other than that I really do think they should have gotten alot more power. You won't be speed-running stuff with them like with lances, or bowguns. If you get off the topic of damage output, I think they're great, just need to know how to switch modes and be mindful of your allies.

I was a little doubtful of axes but they are amazing to use. Sword mode is great for wailing on a downed monster and axe is THE BEST for knocking one out of the air. It's amazing when you upswing and knock a los off the air.
As for me, as long as they don't hit me or constantly get in my way, I don't mind. I don't think they're a noob wep either. No wep in monster hunter is for noobs and all weps require skillful usage to truly utilize them.

I think this weapon is fairly neutral for most. I haven't picked up any bad vibes on this playing with teams. My wife is quite enamored of them and she has yet to trip me up with it. Actually I have seen some outright wild and epic gameplay on that weapon which makes me so jealous at my lack of skill with it.

I personally don't use them too much, but I am the factor in that, not the weapon itself. My hunting style is quite basic (hit-run) and lacks the fluidity and finesse that this weapon really brings out.

If I were much better at combo-ing/timing I would so be into it but as it is I'll stick to my bowguns and my GS.

For the most part, I just watched the videos and saw how badass they looked so I made one. My luck was great when choosing what to craft, as I got to follow up the weapon tree from bone axe+ to blitzkrieg( without any need to farm.

I'm like this in every hunt with randoms unless its with people I know from Minegarde.

Cuz with randoms, I always get upswunged, pounded, charged by a lance and hit by the SA burst becuz randoms don't kow how to direct their attack a little bit away from my position. Sometimes, they just direct it right at me without any care >_>

Heck I even have to dodge other players attacks WHILE dodging the monster itself too in the same hunt sometimes... .-.

I hear those words too much that it doesn't even pass for "Sorry for knocking you over" anymore.

I myself do my best to avoid hindering other player's attacks and still do good damage to the monster but it seems randoms play as if they're soloing and just swing everywhere -.-

I agree with drako, they are fun, but are lacking in damage, kinda feels like a bigger SnS without the second S, even with Great Inceadeus.

I realy like the switch axe,Their range is incredible eventhough thats a backdraw with Some randoms.

I don't get the complaints about damage. SA is one of the fastest killing weapons for me when soloing.

I guess it depends on what monster you're hunting, but generally if I wanna kill stuff fast, I would bring a lance, bowgun, or hammer

My fastest weapon for solo is the hammer, which also means I almost never use it.
I tend to only use the SA for fun, but thats just me.

I have still been testing the SA, it hasn't become a main weapon for me. It's like how I saw the DS, supremely awesome, if I can use it, it will be more awesome, but I can't, so it's only when I'm up for fooling around.

Amber Hoarfrost ftw. I use it to pwn pecco, ian, and even los when I'm feeling daring enough to use a SA on him.
