Hi guys,

I have always think that black harvest is the best switch axe in terms of raw and elemental.

However it came to my mind today that great inceadus have physical phial so I decided to do some slight comparism, and this is what I have found.

Black Harvest Raw 972 (Sharpness +1, add 20% physical damage from white to purple)
Great Inceadeus Raw 1026 (Sharpness +1 (white), add 20% damage in sword mode because its physical phial)

I have never really notice this, but I think great inceadus is better being the the highest raw damage switch axe in sword mode.

This is old news.
White to purple sharpness is a difference of 18% (1.32 > 1.5)
Power Vial multiplies by 1.25, not 1.2

It's only better while in sword mode and in white sharpness. Its white sharpness is pretty small.

Ya, I usually uses sword mode.... When you place AUL in both of them, does it make the difference greater?

Yes it does. AUL will be x1.5 on the Harvest while only x1.32 on the Great Incadeus

This goes for Charms and Talons and everything else also.

How do AUL affect weapons?

So which is better when you put vangis set on them?

With Vangis' attack up medium, both of these switch axes receive 81 raw.
With powercharm/talon on they get another 81 raw each.
With Demondrug or kitch attack small they get 16.2 raw.

972+81+81+16.2 = 1150.2 x1.5 =1725.3
1026+81+81+16.2 = 1204.2 x 1.32 x1.25 =1986.93

That's not damage, that's RAW difference (before % of attack, hitzone, dividers, quest defence)

so is it worth getting the ceadus switch axe even though it has only a little white sharpness?

If you enjoy using Swordmode alot and don't mind sharpening constantly, it may be worth it. But, while your wasting an armor skill for say speed sharpening, the Black Harvest could easily add an attack skill and might even out the damages.

I'm saying that its all dependant on the armor set that you will use for both of them, maybe something like sharpness +1, critical eye +3, and speed sharpening on the Great Incadeus. Then again, while you have this set on the Incadeus, the Harvest could have sharpness +1, attack up large, and something else. I don't feel like doing the calculations to compare these right now.

ill rather hav Black Harvest than Great Inceadeus, because its the only good DRG Switch Axe (Rough Edge is awakening) and DRG is so useful in so many ways....plus, Great Demonbind (P) is better than Great Inceadeus....

Oh, how is the Demonbind better? is it the affinity boost or the Element Vial?

Not to mention that this thread is analyzing the RAW value of the aforementioned axes while in sword mode with all other things being equal.

I am not talking about the dragon damage here, its physical damage....

Great Demonbind (P) VS Great Inceadeus is a different things, plus great demon bind is only a elemental phial, at the momoent physical phial is better because of low elemental switch axe is offering.

Power Vial will always be better than Elemental Vial. Always.

I said for now I meant it for MH3. Power phial always elemental phials MH3, because as for now there isnt any SA with 700-800 elemental damage range.

Even if you have one with Element Vial and around 800 element. Power Vial still wins. Raw is always better than Element.

??? really?? Because I tested Jho GS, gleam and thunder strike (lightning LS) against ceadus, even a white sharpness lightning LS kill faster than a pure GS Jho weapon.

As much as possible, I like to be convinced raw weapons are better but I couldnt get the result you are talking about...

Different weapon types have different attack speeds. You can't compare spirit combos to level 3 charges.

Choose an element, a monster in Tri, and one of that monsters hitzones and I will run the damage for you.
