Any advice for a hunting veteran replaying from the beginning of MHFU?

I'm mainly a GS, LS, and DB user.

For some reason my save files always corrupt once in the PSP MH games I get. No this is the second time its happened and I still haven't become bright enough to have a backup save. -_-

Now instead of loading my suspicious save file from MHF2 I'm going to start all over again from the beginning.

O.O

I know you didnt say sns, but I found deathprize a very easy to obtain and good weapon, I still use it now (at HR9). LS wise maybe go for blango destroyer, since it starts with ice attribute (useful for rathalos etc) and ends up as a very good weapon. Just try to expand on every weapon path so you have a lot of variety. I can't remember that well since its been a while, but I remember poison and paralyze being very helpful.

Fight all monsters with the weapon class you're worst at on them. This means, if you're bad at LSing Khezu, all your Khezu must be LSed until you become better at LSing him. Marathon quests, you get to choose, so yay.

lolKirinDS, RajangGunlance, etc

Kill monsters using only kicks, punches, stones, S/LBB, throwing knives, meat, and flashies

There goes infinity. Actually that's impossible, unless I somehow hack the game.

It would probably take between 2-5 minutes to kick a kelbi to death, not that I've ever done that before. :D Never!

Funny thing is that those are the monster-weapon combos that work really well. I beat dual Rajang with a GL and I've beaten Kirin with the Akantor DS.

If you're good at the weapons, maybe. Most people are really intimidated by those fights.

For the average hunter, Kirin DS is quite a challenge, and I say this as a DS main. Of course, I'm not saying that it's difficult for everyone - there are bound to be people who find that their style of DS use is perfect for Thunder Pony there.

Rajang GL is much more forgiving if you're good at it. Once again, though, it's trouble for the average hunter - I can't Lance/Gunlance most monsters, even High Rank ones with G weapons and armor.

I guess what I'm saying is, you can't really say "those are the monster-weapon combos that work really well" just by yourself. I find killing Rajang with DS is inexplicably easy. Does that make it an easy weapon-monster matchup for me? Yes. Does that make it an easy weapon-monster matchup for you? No, just because something's easy for me doesn't make it easy for everyone else. I just listed what I think most people would find difficult.

G Kirin with a Green Sharpness weapon? Please tell me you're kidding... I wouldn't fight him without Garuga-level Purple Sharpness like Crow Tessen/Crow Torrent's massive purple. Or a Bowgun. Mmmmm.

Nope. I was thinking of it, but decided not to.

On a happier note I was fighting a monoblos when two genprey leaped into each other, literally butting heads. It was funny, especially when they screeched at each other afterwords.

Almost to the first tiggy quest in the Elder Quests

I suggest Buster Blade (or w/e been ages since I've played Unite) and the Tiggy weps in the lower ranks. Effing rapes.

Fnny this. I forgot you said this and I made my own Tiggy GS. IT PWNS EVERYTHING!

Anywho. I was wondering what you all think would be the best low rank fire weapon?

I'm thinking of forcing myself to make the Teo GS.
