Told in three interconnected segments, we follow a young man named Takaki through his life as cruel winters, cold technology, and finally, adult obligations and responsibility converge to test the delicate petals of love.

After 3 years of it being stored in my hard drive, I finally got the time to watch it. And holy shit, I almost came. I mean I almost cried.

For those who haven't seen it, there's nothing special with the story. The narrative, the script, the background, the music is what will move you.

To those who have seen it, please share your thoughts on the anime/movie.

Oookay. Interesting image that. Is it a three part movie? Meaning three movies?!

Wth could cold technology mean...heartless robots(oxymoron ftw)?

i've seen it and i really hate it, but mainly for the story.

it basically tells you about how you'll have to live the rest of your life without your first/true love. yes, you will find someone else and maybe eventually even trick yourself into thinking that you're happy, but deep down inside you know that you still love that very first person you fell in love with and everyone else you were with afterwards was just a cheap attempt to find a substitude for them.

the movie punches you in the face with the good old message that you'll never get over your first, true love but only learn how to live your life without them.

and that's fucking cruel.

Just 3 short parts in the movie, sorta like 3 chapters. There's really not much technology in it, everything is based in real life. Like it will happen, or have happened to everyone. Technology just evolved along with the characters e.g. usage of snail mail, cellphone.

Very true. Reminds me of Haruki Murakami's book Norweigan Wood.

It hits very close to home. The way the story was told is really good, it grabs you and never lets you go... then punches your heart and gives you flashbacks of your past that you thought you have already left behind. :( Great movie IMO

Possibly my favorite movie of all time. Everything about it is perfect, the art, story, character motivation, music... everything. Sure it may be sad and cruel to wrench your heart in the way it does, but if it had a happy ending it wouldn't be nearly as profound and touching as it is now. I believe the point of the movie was to draw out an emotion that should be familiar to all of us that we normally suppress, and in that regard it was a great success.
