Quick reloading Mithost
Spoiler
When you think you are going to be interrupted by something like a scream or wind, start to reload your weapon. If you are interrupted during the reload, you still get the full reload and you saved the time of having to reload after the interruption.
Status shots Mithost
Spoiler
After you have fought a monster enough, you should know roughly how many shots it takes for each status effect to kick in. If you count your shots up to the amount you need, you can take more risks in getting off status effects. For example, if you are one or two shots away from a para, you can probably get the status off before you are hit.
Clust shot Tips Mithost
Spoiler
To get the most out of your clust shots, aim on the monster's back right behind the head. You should get atleast two of your bombs on the head. Also, never shoot a clust at a moving monster. The bombs will just hit the ground where the monster was.
Evasive Crag shots Mithost
Spoiler
This more for fun than anything else, but if you see a monster charging at you, hit it's head with a crag shot. If you are lucky, the explosion from the crag shot will hit you away to a safe distance before the the monster hits you and you will not be damaged.
Extra ammo Mithost
Spoiler
If you have a set that focuses on explosives or status shots, you are not going to be able to use too many of your shots before you run out. However, if you bring the items needed to combine up ammo and enough combo books to make sure it's 100%, you can potentially get triple the amount of shots than before.

Free tranq bombs/shots Mithost
Spoiler
If for whatever reason you are low on tranq bombs, you can easily get more by doing a capture quest and only using the Tranq Shots given to you. You are always given 3 tranq bombs and 4 shots, so you get 3 tranq bombs and 2 shots a run. Do this while farming a monster and you will be rolling in tranq bombs before you know it.
Specialty guns Mithost
Spoiler
There is no perfect gun out there, but there is a perfect gun for you and the situation you are in. After the first time killing a mosnter online, its not going to take you more than 15 minutes to kill a monster. With this in mind, why do you need to be able to fire every normal, pierce, pellet, clust, crag, element, and status effect? You are never going to run out of ammo unless you forget to pack it or you are soloing, so don't make your gun fire everything with clip sizes of 2 each. You will be surprised how large a clip size can get with a specialty gun. You will unload ammo faster, thus killing the monster faster.
Using Shots Drako
Spoiler
Normal Shots
Unlike the two other basic shots, normal shots focus all damage on one area. The exception is normal shot lvl. 3, which I don't recommend using. The reason is that when the shot hits the monster, it ricochets off the monster. Not only is it hard to land this, but you won't be focusing all of the shots power. Definately use Normal lvl. 2 as your main shot. It's easy to use, and you can make up to 400 additional through combining.
Pierce Shots
All shot lvl.s work in the same way. The shots go through the monster hitting it along the way. You'll want to use pierce on long monsters such as Deviljho and Agnaktor. Another tip for piercing is to have a short range. This way the damage done by pierce is done in shorter increments. Pierce does a certain number of hits, say 7. With a long range, if you shoot a Deviljho's chest, it may hit the chest 3x, and the back 4x. With a shorter range it may hit the chest 5x and the back 2x.
Pellets
Don't recommend using them... they suck... end of discussion. Jk, here's why they suck. No control of where they hit the monster. You hit your teamates, and they do like no damage.
Elemental Shots
Still great in Tri, there are 5 different types. Fire acts like a normal round, thunder, freeze, and water act like a pierce round, and dragon shots enter the monster and drop down, piercing along the way, making it easier to hit one hitbox. Definately use em on any monster. Just make sure you know what there weakest to
Sub Shots
Don't use em... just underwater pellets
Others
Exhaust Shots. Extremely useful. They exhaust the monster and do ko damage if you hit the head. Best used in rage mode. Slicing Shots, they won't be able to cut the tail alone, but they help and do good damage. Recov Shots, they restore ALOT of health to your teammates with lvl. 2 or rapid lvl. 1
