I think that like most forums, we should have an introduction forum rather than just a thread in the Social forums.
It would give a place for the IAMA AMA threads which annoy some so much and also give newbies a starting point... Its usually the same old people posting on threads and I don't think that newbies feel welcome to post... I didn't when I started... -_-

The introduction thread is good, but it's not like loads of people go and say hi to people and the newbies probably don't check back. If there was a forum and each person could create a thread for themselves people would feel more welcome as everyone introduces themselves........

Just a suggestion....

Yeah, it's somehow will be nice. it's kinda hard to notice someone new just joined the fray from a single thread (esp if you're an 'i'm-bored-with-that-thread' person). most forums I've been are using this way anyway.

Of course there is always the possibility that if this sub forum was made, it would be overrun with I AMA threads. Whilst some of the I AMA threads have been sincere, I can't help but feel that the Social forum is sufficient enough already.

I know. I didn't start posting much until Hidden alerted me that I had the most Shoutbox shouts somehow.

What Joker said is true, though. Most of the AMA threads in RM are just...well...RM-ish. Having an introduction forum that allows AMA threads...That would probably end up in ruins and rubble by week 1.

If somehow there was a way for new members to be directed straight to the Introductory thread, or sort of 'force' them to post there before posting in other parts of Minegarde, maybe?

I agree with Gemn. The thread isn't even checked by a lot of members.

To Joker:
Someone could mod it, just like RM. The thread in Social just doesn't seem very welcome to me. Heck, I didn't know it was there til after the crash.

I for one think it should be left in the Social forums, but I also think we need a Goodbye thread to; for those moments when we expect to be gone for a long period of time and want to share...

It could be a temporary goodbye thread.
