So I just started playing MH3 after a long time away, and I decided to clear all the online quests, but it seems like EVERY gathering quest in the 1* quest list is impossible to finish.
I'm 35 minutes into gathering 14 Unique Mushrooms, and I only have 3, and the mushroom spawns are all gone.
I would feel kind of pathetic if I couldn't even clear a 1* gathering quest

No, it's not impossible to solo online. It's very, very difficult...but not impossible.

Try using gathering + armour to help utilize the spawns. They will also eventually respawn because their has to be a way to compete the quest.

Gathering quests are all luck. one run can give you so much one time. the other can give you nothing.

Soloing online is damn hard. unless your a pro, or close to it. don't bother.

I soloed my way through all of MHFU (including that goddamn Double Tigrex Urgent D:).
All the quests in the PSP games were always hard at higher HR ranks, and I got mad about not being able to do the Treasure Hunter quests, but nothing was ever impossible to solo in them.
Rather than encourage multiplayer on the Wii version, it seems like they almost require it.
I have no problem with that, but it's a little more difficult to really play a four-man mission in a social setting when you would need 4 Wiis, 4 TVs, and a very large power strip.

I'm not Kai Capable for MHFU, nor do I know any friends who play it near me. So like, I could so solo online. XD

Nothing is impossible.

If you put enough effort and don't give up you'll be able to complete any quest solo.

That's exactly what happened to me with MHF, MHF2, and MHFU.
Over 3500 hours logged across all three, and only maybe 20 hours are from group quests.

I believe jhen has been solo'd in the past. There is a video on it.

The time limit will probably be your main problem when you hit high rank. You need to make sure you are using the best equipment available to you no matter what, so get grinding, buddy.

Yeah but it sucks, you gotta might pill abuse, bring lots of LBB+, adrenaline, never fall into the sand. Probably sucks trying to kill it, repeling is really doable

Just buy the leather set for gathering quest. stay in the same area for a certain amount of time will make those gather spot respawn again. I've done all my gather quest alone (like anyone want to do such boring quest with me lol)

and no, you dont need to use might pill abuse but you do need lbb+ with cat and armor skill boost.

soloing online is possible. You just need to use every trick the game has (sonic /flash / smoke bombs, Large bombs, traps, drugged/para meat) spit 'em in their faces, kick their arses, shadow box them and throw dung and stones to them. use bounce bombs when they are done, to celebrate.

good luck sir... I'm still trying to solo Ala with SNS but I run out of time. It is easier in MH3P
