Please not thoses bad fan-made game who's full of programation error, only game that got released for the market.
10 - Donkey kong country 2. (snes)
At the start this game is extremely easy, but some are of the game is truly a pain and it ask for gameplay skill
9 - Super mario bros 2 the lost world (nes)
the japanese version of super mario bros 2 was the hardest of this saga, some passway was a pain
8 - Shadow of the beast III (amiga 500)
This game is very short, its an action plateformer game with a lots of puzzle, the game got 4 level with a marvelous sound track, but if you miss a single puzzle on this game and some of them are really hard the game rendered is impossible.
7 - Super ghouls'n ghost (snes)
This game was hard due to the horrible hero jumping, otherwise i don't find it that hard
6 - The smurf (snes)
this game was designed for kids.. really it was fucking pain to finish
5 - Ecco the tides of times (genesis)
the sequel of the famous dolphin game, this game was truly a fucking pain even with unlimited lives a lots of people droped this game due to the difficulty
4 - Ecco the dolphin (genesis)
This game is so weird, first its one of my favorite game, but the insane difficulty of this game make it one of the hardest game of the 16byts era, everything in this game whant you dead despit the unlimited ammount of life of this game, a shit load of people simply droped this game because it was way to hard.
The most notable moment about this game is the famous end part, if you manage to pass the legendary welcome to the machine stage you will face the weirdest boss ever created in a game (and its more than gygas form earthbound) if you die at this boss (and this is very easy to die here) you will have to redo the machine level. And this level in question is the most horrible auto-scrolling maze ever created in a video game it was even described as one of the hardest level ever created in a video game
3 - Battletoads (nes)
No its not the first unlike 99% of people claim, this game is very very hard because it need insane reflex but the difficulty for me its almost the same as ecco the dolphin
2 - Shadow of the beast I(amiga)
This game is insane, its like yea its like true hell, because you got no life and no continue just a life bar of 12HP, sometimes during the game there's healthpotion elsesomewhere but they are fucking rare, the colision box of the game is shit and if killing an ennemy asked for precise button press. But this game along with the shadow of the beast serie the soundtrack was marvelous.
1 - Shadow of the beast II (amiga)
This game is like 30% harder than the first sotb game, its still the same 0 lifes and 0 continue only a life bar that deplet FUCKING FAST withouth invinciblity time when you get hit, same as the first one there's health bottle (they don't heal you full) randomly during the game. And if you miss a single wimpy things like hiting a wrong lever.. game rendered is impossible, killed this ennemy to late ? rendered impossible, using a limited usable weapon at the wrong moment ? game rendered is impossible, got yourself a pixel away form the right position ? say hi to 50% of your hp done.
This game was just insanely hard the hardest game i have ever cleared is shadow of the beast I but this one is just.. insane, even if the game was truly short once you knew it the difficulty make it almost impossible to finish. ho and yes you can go anywhere in the game but if you go in a wrong area the game rendered its almost impossible. or you can allway ask for ten pints

FFVII-Because I only made it as far as the last battle with the Turks the first time I played the game, and got stuck there and had to start over. I also missed a lot of the materia/items/equipment that was hidden in the game.
MH-Any and all MH games are hard, but a Fatalis is in general hard for anyone their first time. After that it is tedious...
Dark Cloud-The game itself was fun and challenging, but the final final boss dungeon(the Demon Shaft) was a pain in the butt at the higher/latter levels. I finally was just using Toan, and slaying the bare minimum of monsters in order to pass on. I barely made it.
FFXII-Yaizmat-Because any boss that has 30,000,000,000 HP is ridiculous, and fighting him was the most tedious, nerve racking, and long winded experience I've had in a video game. Definitely top ten. He wasn't challenging, so much as I had level 73 characters, and little to no time to spend fighting him. Sooo it took me longer than usual to beat his giant wyrmness.
Star Ocean III-Just the final dungeons. I still haven't beaten them. Gabriel Celesta is a pain in the butt that is over 9000 in annoyance level. I'm suspicious that my characters seem inordinately slower than they were when I started this game...
KH-Final arena bosses. Especially Sephy. I thought it would be easy to beat him after beating his counterpart from KH2, but he killed me in literally 10 seconds. I've beaten him before...once. It just proves that KH2 lacks the extremeness that KH had, Kurt Zisa aside.
Mega Man 8-Oh how I loath this game. Not because its difficult, but because it is insanely difficult. I've heard of poeple beating this game easily, but for me it is torture. The snowboard levels are my bane. I've only beaten the second one once, got past it to the next boss, and got punk by him. Then I turned off the console, took 5000 deep breaths, and tried again. Turns out you have to start over from before the snowboard level every time. At time like this I shout CAPCOM's name not with joy, NAY with anger!! I aim to one day beat this game...maybe.

- God Hand (PS2): Jesus Christ this game is hard. I had to start a new file on Easy mode just to get past a level in the first chapter.
- Armored Core: Formula Front (PSP): Figuring out the massive depth of the customization then managing to make something with it was a challenge I managed, getting used to the controls...
- DJ Max Portable series (PSP): What the fuck, there is no rhythm!
- NES Mega Man series: Do I even need to say it?
- Demon's Souls (PS3): Playing this game solo and melee can be quite difficult, but with memorizing some patterns and getting the right gear, it gets a bit easier. Probably ranks lower on the list.
- Top Gun (NES) I never could land that damned plane.
The guilty pay the price.

The bad thing about the buster upgrade in X, is that it actually does less damage to bosses.
(because they're invulnerable after the first hit and the pink super charge does lots of hits, when the regular charge is like one big hit)
Plan B says, Ice works really well on the spider.
When he shoots the little spiders, charge and ride the ice block over them all.
Sorry. I didn't have much trouble with that boss.
My vote is definitely on Battletoads.
Demon's Souls is hard and relentless, but at least there's some wiggle room to improve yourself and try the area again.

Megaman games are usually my one weakness in video gaming.

Demon Souls - Melee is a just brutal as a mage it's not bad, but nothing tortures you the way this game does. And the sequel is going to be ever harder,
really the makers of this game are just sick and twisted. The fact that playing near Halloween only to log in get the message "The forces of darkness grow stronger on O'hallows eve" is
really just physical proof from the developers. This game may not be crazy hard on bosses, but it's by far the most unforgiving of any game I can think of.
-Kingdom Hearts: Sephiroth
-Metal Gear Solid series - Big Boss Difficulty
-Monster Hunter: Maybe not hard but the learning curve is pretty steep, memorizing fights is a huge part of mastering it.
-Zone Of The Enders: Great series, really underrated I can't wait till HD remaster comes out. normal is pretty tough on hard it's just brutal
-Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition: Ugh last 2 bosses are just painful
-Dark Cloud: I think this may be the only game to date I haven't beaten that I actually own.
-FF7 Emerald/Ruby Weapon: It's ironic after the first time I beat them they just seemed really easy afterwards. Getting that first kill was a bitch though, earliest kill
of emerald weapon for me stands at lvl 53(Cloud,RedXII,Barret) with no under water Materia(killed under 20 minutes).
-DBZ Budokai Tenkinchi 2: Made a bet with my brother to beat the game on hardest with no upgrades, that was a painful 2 weeks.
-Resident Evil 4: Hard difficulty had so many ammo shortages, Final Boss Wesker.... he is the only boss in my history of gaming that me and my bro actually had to scale back the
difficulty to beat the first go around.

I hear that, I tried to go back and beat Sephy after playing KH2's Sephy, and thinking the first one was weaker than him... I literally lasted two seconds...
Dark Cloud... Though I did beat the game, the secret dungeon, which is called Demon Shaft, was tough. The last ten levels or so were so tough that I would run around killing one monster, and then hoping to get the key so I could run to the next level. It was intense... The final boss, though he was almost too tough to beat, was in retrospect easier than a lot of other bosses I've known... Including Omega WEAPON-Mark XII from FFXII. But not by much...
Yes, it's fun to look back and wonder how in the world you beat them the first time...

I had both of these games on my old Amiga Commodore 500.
They used to scare the crap out of me, not sure how far I got in either of them.

Help
