It seems most people have a ton of trouble with Diablos and thus gun it, finding it a very boring fight. So I decided to show that it can be quite fun and interesting if you practice at it. Here I've done the marathon B. Diablos with 4 melee weapons. Later I'll add the remaining 4.

GL 5’48
Sns 7’59
Hammer 3’30

I don't claim these tactics or setups are the best but that's the beauty of melee, you can never be too sure your method is the best.

Agreed, Diablos is not all that easy a fight for Melee. I used to melee Elder Black/Diablos with Frost Edge+ - the Jumping Slash is great for mobility and has a decent enough vertical range to hit his tail during openings. It gets a little harder when the tail comes off, though, but I can still hit the tail.

With a DS, I follow the tried-and-true method of attacking the legs for a trip, then going after the tail.

When I last GLed Diablos, I used a Spread GL (I would have used Long, but I didn't have Uka GL yet). Upswing>Up-poke on the tail, and Upswing>Shell on the head. Pretty standard stuff, really.

+rep for you

The best tip he shows in the vids is to never cut the tail. GJ blaze.
