We, the staff of Minegarde, would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused. As of late, we have been assaulted by a series of DDOS attacks. The most recent of which, crashed the server. We are currently in the process of stabilizing the site, but it may go down at any time again.
Please be patient as we try to rectify the situation. We'd like to thank you so much for continuing to support us even in times like this.
Save whatever guides you use most often in case.
If you see anything amiss on the site, broken pages, site options out of place..etc..etc..etc...please contact HotGamerMum and let her know so we can try to fix it as soon as possible.
Thank you all again.
Lastly and most importantly, credit to getting site back up goes to kenshinjeff.

Script Kiddies who wanted to prove they are good.
Distributed Denial Of Service Attack; meaning using multiple IP to connect to www.minegarde.com multiple times, by sending TCP/SYN packets again and again (up to a few thousand times). This will force minegarde to reply to this request by sending back the acknowledgement for every single request(ACK packets) to those IP, thus exceeding the server bandwidth and causes the server to crash.
Alternatively, DDOS attack could be cause by running a vulnerability scanner; such as Nessus. Vulnerability scanner scan for all the open ports on a server, and the exploit on the open ports so that they could use it to hack the web server. (www.minegarde.com). This would generate lots of traffic unintentionally and causes Minegarde to crash as well.
For script kiddies, all they can do is to download a 3rd party program and use it to cause the attack, thinking they are good. But they are just hackers wannabes.

But, as long as we can, we'll keep it up as long as possible. We will not give up so easily.

The real question is: why they would do this?....I simple cannot imagine how people from here pissed off someone. This site is dedicated to have a nice discussion and help everyone, the only things that came in my mind is either trolling or someone is irate for minegarde not wanting or saying that will not release a english patch,at least for now.
Just look the case of LiquidPingPong, the guy was doing a favor for everyone and got his life destroyed by selfish, kiddy bastards that coulnd wait a week.

Exactly. Anyone who thinks they're BA goes and downloads whats called a 'Low Orbit Ion Cannon' and screw with people. This thing is actually available to download on sourceforge. It also could be a botnet that had infected one of our registered member's computers.

the problem is that they got too much time on their hands and too many resources gotten from the internet by googling.
but then again.... nothing new...
seems like there was a minor roll back from all the crashes.
