Hey guys, I'm having trouble with this urgent quest. I can't even kill one, let alone two!
My equipment:

Tormentor(LS)
Hypno Helm S
Hypno Plate S (I think thats what it's called)
Hypno Greaves S
Rathian Tasset
Rathalos Greaves

AND

10x Potions
20x Whetstones
10x Paintballs
10x Herbs

This is the felyne urgent in the Old Desert right?
Well, Get yourself:
Dragon Bow Earth

Yellow Piercing
Remobra Suit
Remobra Hands
Remobra Belt
W/e Leggings. I use Genesis Pants cos they look great.

That set should give runner skill. Slows down stamina loss, great for bows. Means you don't need mega juices etc.

Items:
Combo books 1

3
potions x10
Mega potions x10
Cold drinks x5
well done / gourmet steaks x10
Paintballs x10+
Sonic Bombs x10 (optional)
Empty Bottles x99
Power Coating x50
Poison Coating x20
Honey x10
Herbs x10
Nitroshroom x20
Toadstool x10

and what ever else you want.

Go to quest. Kill Normal blos first in the cool areas so you dont waste cool drinks. Poison first then use as the 50 power coatings. Shoot the tail. Should die in under 15-20 mins.
When its done combine more power with Nitroshroom and Empty Bottles. As well as more poison coatings with the toadstools and empty bottles.
Also combine potions and honey for mega potions to keep them topped up.
Eat before other blos to keep stamina max'd. Same tactics. Probs dont bother with sonics on regular blos. Bows good mobility should mean you dont get hit at all or much...

Also, if you're proficient with LS, find a set with High Grade Earplug (there are plenty) and get Devil Slicer. Aim for the tail, and both Monos should die very, very quickly.

If not, I only know how to GS blos. What I'd do is stay just out of tailwhip distance, then when he starts the cue to charge (wings go up, face lowers, and kinda crouchs) quickly run between the legs and unsheathe attack as you get near the back foot. If done correctly, the unsheathe should hit the tail. Chase and watch out for the tailwhip and repeat. Sonic bomb when he digs to get a lvl3 charge + circle + lvl3 charge before he comes out of the hole.

If GS or gunning doesn't work for you, you could ledge them then TP the tail with a hammer.

Always bring sonics + mats to combine for free hits. Just not when he's raged.

Bring your best Pellet gun - I recommend the Blastion Cannon, it has base 300 power and 6 shots each of all levels of Pellet S. You'll need 8 Pur Gypceros Wng, 6 Carbalite Ore, 3 Congalala Pelt+ and 4 Hercudrome to make it. Rule 1 is to always stick as close as possible. Just outside Tailwhip range is fine.

CHARGE: Roll left, and hope for a short charge. If it's a short charge, turn and fire at his tail. You don't need to scope at it. If it's a long charge, sheathe and run after him.

In rage mode, you can roll through the charge, then turn and fire at his tail.

If he charges at you from far away, sheathe and panic dive.

Tailwhip: I dunno. Just shoot at him, I guess? Monoblos doesn't really tail whip all that much...

Hipcheck: Roll through it and shoot his tail.

Dig: Monoblos doesn't double dig, so that's good. When he digs, you just roll left once, then roll forwards:

It's not really a to-scale diagram, but the end if it is that when he surfaces, you should be behind him and to his right. Guess what? Turn and fire at his tail.

Farm the low level monoblos for horns and hearts till you have 2 or 3 hearts. By that time you should have killed about a hundred of those suckers and will have a pretty good technic down by then.

I know it sounds glib but that's pretty much how I did it

Have to agree with using the devil slicer though. it's easier to avoid the tail if it's not there. Use sonics to get him stuck in the sand and lock his horn in the wall whenever possible. They'll even drop shinies sometimes.

I've never done this quest with a long sword. I thought it was decently awkward with a great sword. ._.

I'd recommend a good pierce bow. (The Ceanataur one comes to mind)
....even better if you can get a pierce bow with ice or electricity element.

If you insist on sticking with a long sword, I'd recommend using the blango ice one, or an electric one for added element damage. I'd stay underneath them, and aim for the tail and low stomach. (hitting the tail is where you'll do the most damage)

Under NO circumstances, try to fight both of them at the same time on the same map, especially with a melee weapon. Leave until one of them separates.

As for your inventory, don't forget to take power seeds and armor seeds. For 3-4 minutes at a time, they make your attacks more powerful and soften the blows you receive. You can stack these with demondrugs and armorskins as well.

Take some Sonic Bombs. When they dig (and if you're quick enough) you can trap them in the ground and net a few good hits.

Take flash bombs. They're good for keeping a raging blos in place so you can do something besides put your weapon away and dodge their attacks.

I know GS have their uses but i dont think that blos are the strong point
To be honest you *can* fight two together. But its realllyyyy annoying! A lbg is good if it fires pellet and thunder / ice. Monoblos tails are even weaker to pellet than Diablos. which is why Maze could kill reg blos with LBG in under 2mins...
