Probably will be getting a psp soon, was curious if I should buy all off the psp monster hunter games eventually, and which one to start with, or not buy all, and which ones to buy & start with. MH3 is the first I've played.

They're all nice picks. However, do note that if you're gonna buy the games before MHFU, you'll most likely be playing all by yourself - which shouldn't be an issue if you don't have other MHFU players in your area/don't plan on going adhoc party and/or xlink kai.

No clue what xlink kai is, but isn't ad hoc like...face to face?

"Adhoc party" and "Xlink kai" are ways to play MH (amongst other games) with other players via internet. Adhoc party connects with others using your PS3 while Xlink Kai connects through your PC.

For Xlink Kai info, check here: http://forums.minega...ink-kai-thread/

I recommend playing the first monster hunter freedom. It does NOT cater to noobs, and if you are patient and work at it, you will get very good at monster hunter. Reason being is because the newer monster hunters, although very good, are slowly getting more westernized and have subtle changes that greatly impact gameplay.

I played this for a year before bothering with MHF2. Then Unite was announced, and I didn't get bother with F2 at all. Then, when Unite came out, I DEVOURED it.

So, Freedom.

If you want more lolBrutality, go for MH1. OMGWTFBBQDIDIGETMAHSELFINTO

There is no reason to buy anything except MHFU. Mhfu has all of the content of monster hunter freedom, and all of the content of monster hunter freedom 2, and more.

Depends actually. MHFU has the content, and the G-ranks are challenging. Furthermore, its a extension of the already content-filled MHF2. MHFU would be awesome if you want to jump in to the world of MH and play casually.

But, if you prefer, you can grab Freedom 1. Two things bout MHF1, the difference of the way you play. Since you are limited to the original weapon, you can test yourself there and get use to MH. MHF1 is harder for new comers simply because the way you play and the lack of flexible and easier to use weapon such as the Longsword. Another difference would be the feel. Somehow, if you play MHFU, the game play seems slightly faster and you will be busy pick off monster by monster. But MH would be a more original method. You need to rely more on skills then weaponry advantages, traps or other equipment.

Solely depends on how you wanna play. Though I recommend MHFU, since Ad-Hoc is available and Xlink-kai would enable you to play with other online users.

False. Reason's have already been stated.

Unite if you want more of Tri; hand held and overly-easy gameplay.

Freedom 1 if you want to know what Monster Hunter *truly* is about. Grinding and using what you know, rather than traps, a comrade, or overpowered weapon classes.

Sounds like the way to go, hopefully the next US release MH is like this.

never realised traps weren't in the original MH... I still think MHFU has the most content and if you can't afford to get more than one MH game then get MHFU.

MHFU is the most newbie-friendly. The classics are for players who want more of a challenge and those that want to experience the *true* Monster Hunter game.

I recommend starting with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. You'll get to practice almost all of the monsters there in my opinion. Although G Rank is kinda a pain in the a**, it's worth it.

Get MHFU.

The first games will make you cry and hate MH.

MHFU isn't too hard and theres lots of content and theres a ton of guides for it also.
By the time you have played a lot of it MHP3 should be out in english.
