not much of an expert, heck not even good at it, i just like to play :D

i can play, even though i forgot some of the rules at times. been playing since kamigawa, stoped for awhile after that and then active again during timespiral, and then stopped again. AND THEN ACTIVE AGAIN!! now i'm playing SoM :) bulding an infect deck. just played my first draft boost yesterday(i know,i'm a nub) ANYWAY!!! just wanna know who's playing and share some thoughts a bout decks, cards and whatnot, sooo calling all wizards :D

tap for mana people! get this thread started!!

I've played for years, then I finally bought my fist deck.

Skipped Kamigawa and got back into it around Ravnica. Stopped playing just before Rise of the Eldrazi.

I was pretty good at it, but my friend just dominates everyone and everything at it. So I gave up, plus school and whatnot also contributed.

I play on and off. I'm such a n00b at it that I'm not even sure what set I'm using. Whatever's the most recent, I suppose.
I never cared about justice and I don't recall ever calling myself a hero... I have always only fought for the people I believe in. If an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it!

should have played aggro for being such a nub :P

I'm not very good at it. There's some crazy pros in San Jose, CA here.

I have several decks (non-budget decks) that are considered good for casual. Stall-mill Deck with land destruction, zombies, artifact+platinum angel combo (colorless deck), and several others.

Finances also got in the way :\

But, leading up to last I played, I was doing FNM (Friday Night Magic) with him every week at our cardshop, he let me use his cards and stuff.

I did prefer playing EDH (Elder Dragon Highlander) much more then the competitive stuff though. 6 player EDH gets mighty crazy at times. It's a blast.

I've also been a huge buff on the books and flavour of Magic. Currently, I have Invasion, Planeshift, Appocolypse (all 3 borrowed for over a year now from friend lol), Have read Artefacts cycle 1 and 2, I own Timespiral, Planarchaos, Futuresight, Lorwyn, Morningtide, and Eventide. I've even read Agents f Artefice, Purifying Fire, and Alara Unbroken.

I can't wait for more books to come out, they are all amazing.

One Fact: Every avatar that I've had on this site (new and old) except for this bouncing sheep, has been art from MTG. My current display picture is even the nevinyrral's disk from the from the vault exiled set.

I played from Ice Age up to the Brother's war. After that, it just got too convoluted for me, especially considering how fast WotC releases new editions + abilities/how fast decks get dropped to Type 1.

I started to play when onslaught was out then skipped to kamigawa and then to time spiral, i'm so in love with blue decks even tough many underestimate them or at least used to, my deck (should still have it around) is a blue morph deck to control the game. I used to play a lot in school before most of the other guys "matured" and started saying crap about the game and even now if i find someone that still play it i try to play with him the problem is i live in mexico and its hard to find places where people play it and even places to buy Magic, most people here is still playing yugioh and its the only thing they sell in stores

Fuck the new editions, I'm sticking with my Savannah Lions, Kjeldoran Outposts, and Lightning Bolts.

Guiltfeeder,millstone,corruptions,mutilation,cabal coffers,soulburn,duress,ostracize=win

That was my black burn/creature kill/mill/discard deck. Only way to stop it was either land-D, bounce, or artifact-D. Funny thing was counter didn't have enough mana to stop me.

There was more cards in it, but those were the kill cards.

Started playing some time after Guildpact came out, then dropped out when Time Spiral came out. So I only played Ravnica.
Experimented with several decks, but the Simic Combine (Green-Blue) deck was by far the most successful, not that it was much :P.

@One: no Ravnica book :D?

Nah I never bought the ravnica books. My friend has 2 of them, but he doesn't have the Ravnica book. So its only 2/3rds of a story without a beginning :(

The only book I've read is Dissension (the third 'cycle') from the Ravnica block, and I'll have to say it's pretty understandable. As long as you're quite familiar with the Ravnica culture itself, you'll have no problem figuring out what happened in the previous books.
