I believe they indeed have improved hitboxes. I have yet to be hit by something that didn't actually make contact.

...aside from Lagia's double hipcheck. What is with Monster Hunter and broken hipcheck hitboxes?
I never cared about justice and I don't recall ever calling myself a hero... I have always only fought for the people I believe in. If an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it!

The hit boxes in my opinion are very much improved. I took more risks in this game that would have slammed me in unite. It made me laugh sometimes as the game seemingly gave you evade .5 for just putting on armor :P

I second all of the above - monsters attacks now have fine hitboxes - although Lagia's double hipcheck gets me all the time, at least it seems to make contact.
Also, yeah, it seems that Evading is easier in this game; I've rolled through several attacks with no Evade skills that left me thinking afterwards: "Wtf...?"

Finally, weapon hitzones are also more accurate, and nowhere is this more noticeable than with the Hammer Superpound. In Unite you could hit things with that attack from several miles away.

I think they've been improved a lot when compared to MHF2/MHFU.

There have still been times when I've been hit by attacks which has caused me to raise an eyebrow. The system isn't perfect, as I've experienced, but it is definitely a whole lot better.
