what did you vote for and what specific weapon in that category is your favorite?
it can be based off looks, power, or sentimentality

for me it's Greatswords
more specifically the crabalite sword because of it's simple shape

Definitely bows. Sure, they're currently underpowered (hopefully this'll be changed in MHP3), but they're so easy to use and hit your target. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than firing an arrow at an airborne Rathalos and having it fall from the air.

I have 2 favorites, one 'pierce' bow and one 'rapid' bow: Midnight Bow(Shadow bow 'Silhouette') and Hunter's Power Bow IV, respectively.

What, am I the only one who favors SnS? Fine, whatever :P

Golden Eclipse, hands down. It's a gold blade, has a fantastic name, and excellent fire element.

Duals because of badass factor. I collected most of them, though I never use them except for fun. Specifically the God Fans that are the Hidden Ones; they look amazing, and a sick name.

DS no competition.

I have 14 or 15 DS in my box, 9 of which are fully upgraded (including G weapons). Comparatively, the weapon class with the second most number of fully upgraded weapons is a tie between Hammer and Lance with 4 each. For the record, I only lance one monster, and that's Lavasioth. I hammer about three or four. Most everything else is either DS or Bowgun bait (I favor SnS for Tiggy and Fire Dragons though). GS/LS/GL/HH/Bow? Hmm. Zero, zero, Red Khezu, Gold Rathian (although this is arguably Bowgun bait as well), Gold Rathian again. That's two different monsters. Waow.

EDIT. I ought to mention that when I say Bowgun, it refers to Light Bowgun exclusively, exception of Diablos and Gaoren which are HBGed.
