With baiting - I've seen the advice and tried it (i.e. close to rex before first pivot) but it's still meh... hit and miss for me...
IMO you don't need to bait the charge. It shouldn't matter what weapon you brought - just roll right.
1) Rolling right puts you out of the hitzone of the rocks.
2) If Tiggy charges, rolling right lets you ninja-roll under his arm, thereby avoiding the charge.
3) If he roars, you have enough time to roll the roar (there's a reason I always take Evade+ to Tigrex

)
4) If he double/bites, just roll right again. Poof, Tigrex misses! I haven't confimed this for GS and LS as their post-attack right roll has slightly longer endlag, but it woks perfectly on SnS and DS. Lances and Gunlances can't roll (and I never fight Tiggy with either one - exception of Tiggy Lance, which I swore never to touch again). I've never hammered Tiggy, and HH, for some reason, I have no trouble instinctively dodging his attacks, so no help there (sorry T.T).
5) The Spin can be avoided by rolling out (tilt your analog stick down and roll). Then, you can punish him.
