The http://www.mh-frontier.jp/ has had some major changes. So here is an update of the registration and installation guide.

NOTE: MINEGARDE HAS LIMITED THE IMAGES PER POST! SOME OF MY IMAGES HAVE SEVERAL STEPS IN 1 IMAGE ALONE!

First things first,
You can find the system speculations by clicking on the link below.

You will notice the 3 different types "Hi-Mode" "Medium Mode" "Light Mode"

MHFO Frontier Japan is not 100% compatible with Windows Vista 32bit, so you will have to upgrade to 64bit, however, I read there will be improvements to Frontier's compatibility when 7.0 arrives.

Second, Registration.
Click on the following link, it will lead you to the registration form.

-This (Your Daletto ID) will not be shared with anyone.
-You may use 4-32 alphanumeric characters.
-It is case sensitive
-You may use .(dot)_(underscore)-(hyphen)@(at sign)


I HIGHLY recommend you use the same name at the Daletto ID and Nickname, it will avoid you a lot of confusion if you are fluent in Japanese.

Step 1.
Daletto ID, when you enter it, click on the button to the right to see if the nickname you entered is available.

Password
Password
Nickname
e-mail address
confirm e-mail address

In Kanji
Surname, First name.
(if you are clueless, in the first box put 山田 and in the second 太郎)
In Furigana/Hiragana
Surname, First name.
(if you are clueless, in the first box put やまだ and in the second box たろう)
Gender,
男性 Male OR 女性 Female
Date of Birth,
Year, Month, Day
Zip Code,
Zip Code (if you are clueless, put 9251010)

Note When you register your customer information!

If you submitted everything correctly, you will be taken to Step 2, which looks like this. Follow the image instructions.

Enter the "captcha" image characters.
Put a check in the box as the image indicates, and click on the orange button to submit.

If you did everything correctly, you will get the following message in Step 3.

It pretty much says that you will receive an e-mail from Daletto to confirm your registration.

SO! close the page and Log In to your e-mail.
Look for the e-mail on your Inbox or Junk folder.
Click on the given link



Once you click on the link, it will automatically log you in the Daletto site (Notice your ID on the upper left "yourname/idさん") and take you to Step 4.

Follow the image instructions, it will help you register to Trial Course. Trial Course has a limit, the maximum Hunter Rank is 2.

If you followed the instructions successfully, you will see this.


NOTE: The link in your e-mail notification can expire if you click on it more than once. If it does, log in to Daletto.

That will do it, You have successfully created a Daletto account and registered it for Trial Course. Keep in mind that you do need to be registered for Trial Course in order to Log In the game.

Part 2:

Monster Hunter Frontier Installation

Once downloaded, open the installer and go through the installation.

Free VPNs are no longer working, so in order to be able to connect to the Jp severs, you will need to use a private VPN.

As I mentioned other threads, the private VPN is in full Chinese, very easy to operate and VERY reliable. You can share it with 1 other person and have a bit more lag than 1 person alone. But then again, if you share, you can pay 1 month then the other member can pay the second month and so on.

You need PayPal with $5.50

I have a Chinese friend who brought me into EVPN, since I don't know a lick of Chinese, I just PayPal him the funds + fees and a small profit for him.

So I spend 7.50 for it and all I have to do is log in it and select the country's IP I want and that's basically it.

If any of you are seriously interested on it, PM me and I will give you his info. Keep in mind, paypal only and have funds ready =P

Softether or MobileFree VPNs used to have a 4-5 seconds lag difference between players. With EVPN it is 1/2 to 1(most of the times it is less) second lag difference between players, it is as good as it will get for players outside of Japan.

Now that your IP is masked through EVPN go ahead and Change your Time Zone to
(GMT+09:00 Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo) as shown in the picture, make sure you save it !
GameGuard will detect if the time does not correspond and you will be denied access !

Part 3:

Now for the moment you have ALL been waiting for >=D

with your IP masked and time zone set to the required time zone

go ahead and run your game ! =D


Note, a step a lot of people miss:
IF YOU DO NOT SEE JAPANESE CHARACTERS, PLEASE INSTALL THE EASTER LANGUAGE PACKAGE ON YOUR PC!
DON'T KNOW HOW? TRY GOOGLE OR READ THROUGH THE THREAD.

Game Guard will go ahead and load...

if it detects something that does not correspond,
it will not allow you to start the MH Frontier Log In Screen
(which means you did something wrong)

if successful... you will be able to see the following !
Go ahead and enter your User name, password and select Server 1

(third choice in the drop down list/　サーバー①　)
You may play in other servers as well but we are all in Server 1




it will then start loading, if successful, it will go ahead and load up to 100%

if it loads to 100% Congrats ! you made it !

go ahead and press Enter as it tells you...

press enter again where indicated

you will be asked to create your character (Simple)

now you have the option to choose your world

now that you are in successfully, go ahead and explore! you are on your own !

DO NOT TYPE IN ENGLISH IN THE GAME CHAT, you will be at risk of getting banned, use an alternate messenger such as Private Messages in game/quest chat only with people you know/MSN/AIM/others

Yes, it will be slightly laggy, depending on your connection, it you have a fast connection it wont be so much of a "loss" or you could always go for a private VPN.

as far as controllers go, you will go crazy with a keyboard and a mouse, so if you have a PS2 controller use a USB adapter to use it with the game
a SixAxis will work as well (if you don't know how to, you need to download a software)
for some reason the SixAxis and Dual Shock 2 have different commands on each button, it can be configured.

The only problem is the downloading.. when i click on the silver button in http://www.mh-frontier.jp/start/download.html it says i cannot download it, i do not have permission to access it..

maybe it is because your ISP does not allow it
lets find an alternate way to do it...

maybe mask your IP then try downloading it

if that doesn't work, I'd have to find another way

I'm getting the same error as you are getting. I recently moved from Canada to Japan, my Bandwidth speed is 7Meg & my ISP is obviously Japanese (so I don't need to mask my ISP) Anyway, how do I download this? I'm new here and I don't understand Japanese too..BTW I'm not sure if ISP blocks some site, never heard of any. I appreciate any help, I love this game & hope to play the PC version soon.

so far no one has experienced download programs, I have a friend who moved from Canada to Japan (Gus85) and he did have to use VPN to play in Japan (odd isn't it?)
it is a simple download and install... I just downloaded it with no problems at all.
using VPN is included in this guide,(Part2) follow up from VPN download and installation
if you cant download the MHF installer, let me know and I will proceed with a different option.

lexing, Thanks for the -Rep I really don't understand why but I HAVE provided/valid link, it is a LEGIT link to the OFFICIAL MH Frontier download site !

It has been tested as well as soon as I read "3navigation"' post
I clicked on the link started downloading it to see if it had been blocked... but it hasn't !
if I have to put up the installer on Megaupload, I will do it.

If it hasn't been tested, WHY would I go ahead and spend 5 hours on making a detailed/specific guide for others to join?

Thanks alot for the updated Installation guide Smasher!
Now i know what's my problem,i had a japanese friend translate that error in the previous installation guide,he said "you have to pay"
it apeares that i didn't click on the "trial version" ^^;
you have any idea how to get to that page of the trial version? =o
